What do you call the reciever and giver and do you agree before hand who does what first, or do you have like, fixed roles.
Also, if you don't like to be the reciever, does it disadvantage you totally or can you work around it? (so to speak)
Sorry if this is too personal but I'm very curious.

I prefer the terms receptive and insertive partner. They don't sound as judgemental as top/bottom, passive/active, dom/sub etc. It's often been said that the gay community has too many cows and not enough bulls, but I think that's changing now as people aren't feeling so constrained by labels. My partner and me like to change ... ride there for a ride back. We go with the flow these days, but certainly in the early days we talked and negotiated more.

reciever: bottom, catcher
giver: top, pitcher
It just sort of makes itself known, if your body language is more butt centered or groin centered when your flirting, also you can just ask
being a strict top is actually sort of an advantage in some people's eyes because there are (supposedly) so many bottoms

I think the most common terms are top and bottom.. Sometimes, and even though sometimes I don't like to be the receiver, I will do it if I really like someone.

the terms are top and bottom...
and depends on the couple who's bottom and who's top... me and my boyfriend have a balanced sex life... he likes being bottom and I like being top.. but at least once a week we switch roles because both of us like it too...

We call it top and bottom, i am a bottom only and date only tops so that there is no confusion

hmmm, pitcher/catcher. um, usually decided when it happens. I like pitching better, but if i am catching, use a lot of lube to make it easier.
