If every person in the boat is going to apply the same amount of force when they row no matter what the others in the boat are doing, why does it matter if they're all rowing together? I understand that all rowing together results in a stronger individual burst, but why is one strong burst any stronger than multiple weak bursts when the sum is the same?

I understand theoretically that if everyone's moving at once, the resistance to individual rowers appears lower - but why is that, if they're still applying the same amount of force?

What would lead a host of people to seek to place a human being in prison for the rest of his or her youth because he or she supports animal fights? Our social perception seems a little bit twisted. It is twisted that someone would set up animal fights and gamble on such activities. However, it is MORE twisted that so many are willing to support the human athletic ability and sacrifice (many footballers die or end up crippled for life for the sport, pleasure and financial gain, not just for themselves but for millions of others, there are some who gain more than the athletes, yet, would lock away a footballer for the rest of his youth, possibly his life, because he supports animal fights. Animal rights are to be respected and we need not support cruelty to wild beasts (they are instinctively cruel to each other in the wild). Are we so intelligent that we would teach animals to love so much that we forget what is greater and most important to us, the dignity for human life? Curious

I've heard that with those donation boxes you see in stores, not all the money goes to the charity. I heard that whoever decides to put it there can take a percentage for travel, expenses in getting the box, etc, etc. Is this true? If so what percentage of the profits is the person allowed to take from the box?

Seems like the GOP is making a huge mistake, counting on "Hating Hillary" to win them an election. The swing vote in America, which is the vote that actually elects Presidents these days (the fence-sitters) seem to hate Bush a lot more than they hate Hillary (these are the voters who are on the dissatisfied end of the polls on Bush's performance but who are not necessarily Democrats). The GOP candidates are having a good laugh at hating Hillary but they don't have much substance otherwise. What do you think?

their excuse for not taking the lie detector test (even though they said they would) was that it isn't 100% accurate, but in your opinion, why wouldn't they want to assist the PJ by answering the standard 40 questions?

I can't decide because a real tree has been shipped on a truck or other vehicle probably for miles and miles, so it's contributing to pollution that way, but fake trees are made in a factory and... well... you know factories aren't good for the Earth. Which one is better? And oh yeah I forgot, you can use a fake tree over, but if you keep buying real trees, it will have to be shipped every year to the place... which is better! And I buy them already cut, so it's not like the tree's been there forever and it was grown there... HELP!
