So I have this lamp with a red base and white shade. I got it when I was five to go with my rainbow wallpaper, red gingham curtains, and Rainbow Brite bedding. But I digress.

Over the years, my room has changed but my lamp hasn't. It's been ok because my room was very unique. Now I'm away from home and I want to put this lamp in my living room next to the couch. However, the red really doesn't go with the color scheme of the room. Is there some sort of primer I can use on it or special paint I can use so it won't chip off? I think the lamp base is some sort of glass or ceramic.

So many of my friends are depressed. And I don't mean they are just sad or pessimistic, I mean they are clinically depressed and taking medication and getting therapy. The thing is, they have totally valid reasons for being depressed. Dysfunctional childhoods, family suicides, abusive lovers, health problems, unstable parenst, etc. It seems like they can never get the love and care that they need. I care about my friends a lot, but I alone can't love them as much as they need. I don't know how to help them feel better. They all want to die, and I don't know what to tell them. I know the first step in getting better and finding the love you need is learning to love yourself, but how can people love themselves when no one else seems to love them?

It's so annoying. I'd tell him all the stuff about capitalism is a horrible system, but he's just failing me because of it lol. I don't understand how he can encourage a system that denies equality and instead supports wealthy capitalists exploiting the working class. Why would he support it? I mean, do you ever feel like you don't want to do anything at all? Not sleep, eat, watch tv, see anyone... I got sort of worried when I had this feeling for the first time, because I'm too depressed to do anything, but sitting here doing nothing just makes it worse. If you do ever get to feeling like that, what do you do?

i almost always try to leave a short message on them, i think hang ups are rude!

but we have our share of hang ups on our machine.

also does it frusterate you or piss you off when you call more then once and keep getting the machine?

do you feel like people are just screening thier calls cause they dont want to talk to you?

someone accused us of doing that! and we dont!

So i'm going back there for thanksgiving after a couple of months away. I never liked SD while there, it was just sooo boring and pre-fabricated. Well, since I'm going to be stuck for a week, I might as well do something semi-fun. What is there? And nothing touristy (ie zoo, beach, balboa park, etc).
