they offered me an unsecured loan, and have a website that is quite weak. Are they ligit?

never have but if they want up front money or a kick back on the loan amount tell them to get lost!!!!

Probably a scammer. Scammers usually don't set up websites but some have been know to do just that. Look for typographical errors and improper grammar on the website.
The biggest key however is if they require you to pay them any money upfront before they will release the loan, they are a scammer. Different scammers call this fee different things (ie. Insurance, Deposit, First Payments in Advance, etc.) but, no matter what they call it, it is a scam.
