It's because tobacco contains nicotine, which has this effect when inhaled. It sounds like you do not use tobacco on a regular basis, and as a smoker myself who has tried to 'kick the habit' several times and failed, my advice is this: STAY AWAY FROM CIGARETTES. The negatives far outweigh the positives and nicotine is HIGHLY addictive.

Yeah, so let me ask you a question....If you get these intene headrushes and dizzine, why do you want to smoke?
On second thought, forgit that I asked that...My bad...don't stop smoking...Whatever these guys tell you, don't stop!
Oh, and whatever they tell you about the addictiveness of nictotine...well, it's not true...Nictotine is NOT not addictive...Just because the chemical receptor for nictotine are in the hypothalimus, the pleasure center of the brain, and nictotine lodges in the hypothalimus, is no reason to quit smoking.
And I am sure someone will tell you about the carbon monoxide that cigarrett smoke produces is 8 times [that's right, it's eight times!...] more powerful than oxygen once it's stuck on the hemoglobin that carrys oxygen out to your cells of the body, including your brain. ....
If anyone tells you this, well, it's just some vicious rumor...don't listen to it...just because there are children who breath this second hand smoke are litterally dumber than those whose parents dont smoke....well, don't go to the American Lung Association and ask for the study....it ain't there....and it's not true...none of it ...nada....

this happens because you haven't developed a tolerance for nicotine (which is a stimulant). Being a smoker for the past 10 years..and in the process of TRYING to quit (again!) I wouldn't suggest starting to smoke full-time. Nicotine has a half life in your body of about 3 minutes before your body begins to crave it again..while heroin has a half life of 4-6 hours. You've probably seen (either in person or on tv) heroin addicts struggling to kick the habit, so imagine how difficult it'd be to quit smoking. The withdrawal symptoms with nicotine aren't as SEVERE and potentially life threatening as with heroin, but quitting makes you miserable none the less. Do yourself the favor, and don't start. Trust me, I wish I hadn't

It's the nicotine, which is a stimulant. It narrows the blood vessels, causing the symptoms you describe. That is one reason smoking is so bad for you---it causes high blood pressure.

Heroin sounds far less harmfull, so try that instead! I've heard crack is cheaper, maybe use that as a less expensive option? Just a thought.

...the chemical "nicotine" is influencing your brain functions and robing you of oxygen and replacing it with about 200 different carcinogenic chemicals... in time, your brain will become addicted to the chemical and you will want more and more... and in time the carcinogenic chemicals will kill you.
(kinda-sorta like committing suicide on the installment plan)
