"A plan to bring red-light cameras to the city remains on hold.

The proposal by Arizona-based Redflex Traffic Systems was slated for a vote at Tuesday night's City Council meeting but was set aside because the city and Redflex continue to negotiate a contract.

Corporate Counsel Alayne Weingartz told aldermen there remains "some language to be worked out" in finalizing the deal that, based on Redflex's plan, calls for 20 cameras to be placed at key intersections throughout the city at no cost to the city.

"This has been bouncing around for a while," said At-large Alderman Bob O'Connor, chairman of the Finance Committee that has twice considered red-light cameras in the last year.

According to the plan submitted to the city in January, Redflex would own and operate the cameras.

Vehicles running red lights would be photographed, and citations would be sent to vehicle owners -- not the drivers -- by Redflex after consulting with police."

A. Rod wants millions and millions but, if the guy really loves the game and wants that World Series ring you would think he'd take a cut so the team he ended up with could afford more talent. I mean as far as money goes, him his children and his grandchildren are set for life. The man is talented but, as long as he stays somewhat greedy he'll never be with a team that has the means to go the distance. What do ya'll think?

Seriously, the bible (I know you are rolling your eyes) say that animals were created after their kind. A little criptic, but OK for someone that wants to believe in natural selection and God.
Mutations happen randomly as I understand. They are kept or discarded based on natural selection. Kind of like the way russians used to do elections:) anyway, can someone strip this idea out of a christians clutches?

this is a quote from Philip Johnson, Law Professor and Author

As I read all of the evolutionary literature written for the general public, I saw that some of the proponents of Darwinian evolution were hard-core atheists like Richard Dawkins, and others were not. Some of them took a view that religion or belief in God is alright if you want that sort of a thing, but they assumed that it was an imaginary thing. I could see that this is why there was so much insistence upon the Darwinian story.

Believing in Darwinian evolution doesn't prove that there's no God. What it proves is that there's no need for God's participation to get all the creating done. Now, is that true? I was fascinated with that question of what's fundamentally true.
