It's hard to say this being a liberal, but I think that this is where the downfall of the country began.

The movement gave women too much power in the most important entity in the world - the family home. If you go back and trace when the divorce rate started to rise, you can see that it coincides with women being given the upper-hand in the courts across the country.

Because of this children are now very likely to be raised without the strong leadership that a man provides and thereby fall into more negative situations because they lack the guidance of a strong male figure.

This in turn leads to an increase in kids dropping out of school, becoming teenage mothers, getting involved in crime, and a whole host of other ills that are now ravaging this society.

And it's all because women have too much power to be put in their place in nowadays.

Hillary Clinton becoming president would the blow that breaks this nations back.

I'm a big intelligent guy who looks like he *should* know about cars, however-I only know how to drive them and have no clue what goes under the hood. Thus, I get charged $75 for a battery pan or some such other nonsense everytime i go for a knock or a ping. I have spent thousands, only to get laughed at later by people telling me how overcharged i was.

Any ideas? Other than slaughtering the shifty mechanics who just use my extra cash for pay-per-view wrestling?

He/she has turned up at your house in the middle of the night. They always help you out when you are in need. Now it's your turn to return the favor. You must either;

a, Help them with cash so they can skip the country.

b, Give them a place to stay, so they can hide-out. Or

c, Turn them in to the cops.

What do you do?

Everybody knows there is something in us that naturally wants to have adversaries: in elementary school, it's the boys against the girls, later on it's the Ford drivers against the Chevy drivers. Here it's the creationists vs. the evolutionists, the atheists against the believers, the fundamentalists against everybody else. It's absurd.

How much of this is involved in your church? Who are the people you see as the enemy, or the unsaved, or the heathens? How does your church define itself against those others?

Right now the interest rates continue to be very low. THE GLOOM AND DOOM that the media has been talking about for 3 years has now come to pass. BUT FOR WHAT REASON? That Real Estate bubble that they predicted to BURST has now begun. But would it have if people didn't fear it coming. I had a banner year, and am fine with an adjustment in the market, but how many people believe the media played a huge part in this crisis?

I did not sit and watch every episode Prison Break, or Lost, or The Sopranos, or Friends, or Scrubs in fact any now that I mention friends, American sitcoms are TERRIBLE.

American comedy used to be great, Steve Martin, Woody Allen, really insightful intellectual programs and films. Now it's all bland and simply isn't funny.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is the only great thing America's done for comedy in the last ten years, possibly Frasier to an extent.

I don't have a co-signer available, so that isn't an option, and I have $1000-$1500 to put as a down payment, versus no downpayment at all. I am a student, but also work around 30hrs/wk and get paid $10/hr, so I have steady income and a decent job. I went to a dealership and found an awesome deal, a 2001 Taurus with only 25,000 miles (I drive to/from school 30 miles each way daily) and they were asking $7900, but the guy I was talking to said that they needed more proof on my income and they are having a hard time financing me. I have charge offs (now repaid) on my credit report and late payments, but have made all my payments on time in the last three months. I applied with Bar None and another (Autoloans.com or something) and was denied from Autoloans. Is there any other place that I will be able to go to get financed for car??

Pennance is a prayer or act of mercy that brings a person's will back into conformance with the will of God after the person has been forgiven of sin. it is a visible sign of an internal conversion of the heart.

If non-Catholic Christians practice pennance, who assigns the pennance?

I've made preliminary inquiries to get life insurance for a 78 year-old female, however, I get the standard response of "no" because of her age and the fact that she has been hospitalized in the last year and has pre-existing conditions (COPD, high blood pressure, arhythmia). My sense, however, is that there may be life insurance companies out there with more accomodating terms for senior citizens. If you know of any such companies, or are experienced enough in life insurance to give a definitive "no- it's not possible" response, please let me know. What are our alternatives, if any?

My son is 10 years old. He has been smart mouthing me all day, he constantly moans when asked to do something & is basically a selfish git! I have grounded him, taken away his beloved pokemon cards & banned him from every electrical appliance in the house oh & also his football training. He still argues with me when told to do something and has major tears & strops. I have had enough. My mum & dad would send us to bed without any tea but would it be frowned upon today? I threatened him with bread & water if he didn't quit! I love him dearly but feel i have to put my foot down once and for all.
