My mom had them called once by a neighbor that hate my mom. She basically lied to them so the CPS came and talked to all the other neighbors. They all stood up for my mom (rightly so, it was all lies) and that was the end of that.

one of her younger children got a hold of the older's ADHD medication and ate it thinking it was candy, they had to rush her to emergency and the hospital staff had to inform CPS and she got into a bit of trouble. They did not take the kids, of course, but there were visits for awhile. The same ADHD child was causing problems at school, missing school and CPS was called again. They gave her some slack, but she had to be home schooled for the rest of the year.
They are good now, she's in high school.

No, But I did on someone, when I see them just allowing a house with 4 kids under the age of 5 running about with no parent for hours on end, oh yes.
