Yes. My first husband I nearly left 3 times and was talked out of it with his promises to make things better. I stopped believing and really left the 4th time. His 3rd marriage is currently on the rocks.

no not always, depends on how much effort is put into the relationship after a person is given a second chance

Yes, if you don't make an effort to change the mistake that resulted in losing the first chance.

It would be nice to say things will be better the second time around, but, if your riding the same horse around the same track....your probably not gonna win this time either! Sorry!

No Ma'am I do not. Second, third and on and on chances can and do finally work out as the people become wiser with age.

Sometimes yes, but most either don't even get to the 2nd chances or they're either better or worse than the 1st time.

I think its always worse the second time around, i believe its because you both have already crossed each others bounderies and both of you will try to push each other to new limits.

"Forgiveness is NOT forgetting, but letting go of the pain"

sometimes in a relationship we love enough to give 2,3,10 chances, only in OUR hearts will we know when "enough is enough".
My husband just recently had "another" relapse with alcohol, I cried and cried, telling myself that I couldn't do it again...I called my mother and she said something that really hit home..."When you love someone, I mean REALLY love them, you try and try again". I asked her, "When do we know when it's time to stop trying?" she said "YOUR HEART will know"
I hope this helped

EDIT:
let me add on though, that ABUSE in any form is UNACCEPTABLE and once is enough to quit! -experience-
