(As with questions concerning "some feminists", please note that "some" is different from "all" or "most" or "many".)

Some masculists defend a view of masculinity as the "strong, silent type", as primal, even primitive, uncomplicated, simple, not "over-analyzing", not "thinking too much", and even suggest that when men discuss feelings, they're being "feminized".

While they are entitled to their views on masculinity, I then have to wonder when they also make a show of celebrating how many men have been great philosophers, poets, and other thinkers

Did these men not analyze things? Did they not think things through over and over from many angles? Did they not express emotions? Were they the "strong, silent type"?

Does it make sense for masculists to celebrate the achievements of men who, on their own terms, aren't really much "men" at all?

I really like this guy, he has alot going for him and so do I, so I think we would be really good for each other. We have talked quite a bit, but i am nervous. I need some first date suggestions.. what happens physically? kiss? hold hands? what?

Im trying to work out the stress of a fishing line after connecting a fishing line to a pulleyboard and adding 100g weights one at a time onto the fishing line to create strain and stress.

I know the formula is Stress = Force divided by area

And i have already worked out the force acting on the fishing line for each 100 gram weights which are added. If i have done this right it is 0.1 (100 g) multiplied by 9.81 (gravity) to give 0.981.

Also i have the diameter of the fishing line as 35 microns (3.5 x 10 to the power of -5)

So the area of the cross section of the circular fishing line is needed and then needs to be multiplied by the length of the fishing line which is 1.2 metres.

Can anyone help me out with this please?

Thank you so much

Ok this is the first time I am having a UTI,
I have no obvious symptoms though, But I had pain in both of my kidneys.. My doc asked to get a urine culture done and found out the bacteria causing it is "Klebsiella Pneumoniae". Anyone heard of it or got it before?
The bacteria is resistant to many antibiotics and I am searching n searching on net but not getting anything useful treatment-wise.

My doc has planned to keep me on antibiotic Ciprafloxacin(Cipran) for 7 days n if things don't improve he's gonna give me around 7-10 injections each day? Are you ladies familier with this plan of treatment?

Any help would be so much appreciated. When my doc saw the name of the bacteria he was like "Oh No!" Is it difficult to treat or what?

Thanks in advance.

^ Just what that says! I was really thinking about it! Urine contains ammonia, and I just bleached my toilet... So if I go pee, will the fumes mix and come up and kill me while I'm on the toilet? That would be just awful!

Thanks! I'll pick a best answer TODAY!

Theists, can you at LEAST give atheists enough respect to not say God is in everyone? We atheists do not have any god, much less whatever god you believe in, stamped in our hearts from birth. There is no belief instilled in us. We aren't denying your "truth". Can't you understand that? Even if this message is loving to you, it's still imposing your belief on others. What ever happened to fairness?

I have a couple tattoos on my body, that are pretty much hidden in a business setting. They are on my sides. I want more tattoos in more visible places, but right now I have a job not a career, and if anything were to happen I just don't want to take any chances on having to get another job.

How did you decide to get visible tattoos? What was the determing factor for you to just go ahead and do it?

My bf is a tattoo artist, and he thinks if I want tattoos I should get them, and not be held back by anything. I think we just view things differently.

Help?

I'm the sole breadwinner in the household, and my wife insists on spending every single penny I bring in. If it looks like we might have anything left over after necessities, we suddenly "need" to get something else, according to her. If I make a sound about the spending, I'm a villain. Why does she do this? It's not as if she spends her days in housework. I'm supposed to do that, as well, but I admit to not doing it. I put in 10-12 hour days at work and still we can't make ends meet. There is always something more that just "must" be bought. She will not get a job. We have a child and she refuses to put him into daycare.

Why does she do these things? How do I understand it so I can live with it?

Barack Obama poses this fascinating moral question to a five-year-old:

“We’ve got to make sure that people who have more money help the people who have less money,” Obama said. “If you had a whole pizza, and your friend had no pizza, would you give him a slice?”
