Theists, can you at LEAST give atheists enough respect to not say God is in everyone? We atheists do not have any god, much less whatever god you believe in, stamped in our hearts from birth. There is no belief instilled in us. We aren't denying your "truth". Can't you understand that? Even if this message is loving to you, it's still imposing your belief on others. What ever happened to fairness?

"what difference does it make whether or not he is in you and part of you?"
It's not whether it's true or not, but others insisting it's true when I don't believe it.

"God made you even if you don't believe it."
You're being rude. This is exactly what I'm talking about.

I can't give respect to someone who is ignorant enough to throw away God and HIS FREE gift!
Not only that but, you are breathing with out a machine.
You can think, your heart is beating without being plugged in!
Even though Christ may not be in your life, God made you and you breathing is proof!

Asking god in your "Heart" is a parable. He (If you asked him) would be in your soul and life !

But, please do not think God is in your heart, you are definitely confused which makes me wonder if you even know what you believe in?

It may be reality, that a part of the universal spiritual force, that hold the world together as one organism both spiritually and materially, is in your heart, but you do not see it as the God defined by traditional religion. But if a part of this spirit is everywhere and that is the reality, then you too must have part of it in your heart. If it is not the reality, then maybe it is in nobodies heart. Since my talent and focus is almost exclusivelyl in the spiritual, I sense that there is a spiritual realm, that we all have an independant spirit, that can leave the body at times, and that there is a universal spiritual force, that holds the universe together as one. I would be of very little use to the world if my area of talent was denied.

There is no credible evidence that god or any other kind of supernatural boogeyman exists, much less that it resides in any organs of the human body. This is just more of the same old, tired, ridiculous nonsense common to primitive religious thought.

With all due respect, it is only with your inner spirit that you would ever be able to discern God in your life. And so, with that said, it's fine if you do not know this for yourself. For me, and my experience, do you accept that God is a reality - even a reality greater than this one we exist in: time and space, where things have beginnings and endings. Can you accept that time and space; the finite exists in and as a minute part of eternity and infinity? Scientifically, this is so. And because there is a great gulf between time and space and infinity and eternity, only God's spirit within you can communicate your prayers and my prayers to God? And can you accept that God-knowing individuals have as much right to say that we believe God's spirit is within you as you have to argue against it? Why should it bother you? Is your inner spirit stirred up and bugging you? Is there something about that is nagging at you? Are you so sure of yourself? It appears that no one is imposing on you, they are stating what they believe in response to questions asked... you asked they answered... so calling it imposing is not fair.

If you really want to know, just listen to your own inner spirit who is always whispering to you "this is the way"... but you don't have to listen to me or anyone else. ... especially since you've kind of made up your mind... or have you? Do you have doubts sometimes? Feel strange? Bad about it? Know things you've heard about God don't compute? Do you sometimes feel led in a mysterious way to do something, or go somewhere or to be with someone? Anyway, I hope you will stop thinking of it as imposing, because here in R&S QandA you ask and so you'll get answers.

As a Fundie, I agree 100% with you. The bible does not say that God is in everyone's heart. It does not say that all people are children of God either. It says that to all who accept Christ as their Lord and Savior is given the right to be called a child of God. It also says that to come to God, you must first believe that He is.
So, no - you don't have God in your heart and you are not a child of God if you're an atheist. I for one will not claim that God is in you - I hope that changes for you, but I cannot make it happen.

NO ONE has god stamped in their hearts from birth. EVERYONE starts out believing in nothing except for what they're told. Religious thought is either taught to you and you are inculcated with it, or it's not.

I think that you are missing the point.

Everyone is a part of God. It is not necessary for you to care about it, or to believe this for it to be true.

My God loves and respects your beliefs and thinks that you are perfect exactly the way that you are. She would not change a single thing about you. Not imposing a thing.

love and blessings Don

Some people can't fathom other people having a different set of beliefs. See, we must be closet theists (in their eyes).

If you don't believe in God, what difference does it make whether or not he is in you and part of you? Just sluff it off and get over it. God made you even if you don't believe it. Every breath you take is from Him. It's just sad that you don't recognize it. Are we supposed to respect the fact that you constantly say God isn't in anyone? I think you are feeling convicted by God and are uncomfortable with the fact that you don't reallly know whether or not he exists if you feel that by saying God is in everyone makes you feel uncomfortable.

Yep, you have to believe to invite God in, but God still loves us all right now, and if God really wants you to know something, quicker than the blink of an eye, you would be falling down on the ground realizing it.

Relax. Only believers have Satan etched on their hearts as well. That's what they say when they're led to "sin". We don't have that problem. Leave them to their inability to accept responsibility and walk away.
