Usually while I am answering it I realize that my contacts may also like the question. I then finish my answer and go up to star it.

hello Jake, I have done it both ways, I have even starred a question I didn't answer. Just cause I don't know the answer doesn't mean I can't find the question interesting.

I suppose it varies....but I think I usually star the question immediately after answering.
