the reason why there are 4 gospels (among the dozens of gospels written) is because Irenaeus of Lyons, in the 2nd century thought this was the logical number to add to the Bible, his reasoning being that the compass had 4 directions, so naturally, the Bible should have 4 gospels. Other gospels (such as the gospel of Judas) were discarded without any particular archeological or scientific reasons.

In the centuries following the crusifiction, multiple branches of christianity existed, most of them were persecuted and many seized to exist. Many parts of the Bible were written down long after the crusifiction, and much of the christianity we know today has been heavily affected by the corrupt balances of power that existed many centuries ago.

How can people still take something so vague as the Bible so literal? I am not atheist, and I do believe there is a God, but I cannot take something which has been the foundation of so much abuse, many wars and so much suffering, literal.

Time is too slow for those who wait,
too swift for those who fear,
too long for those who grieve,
too short for those who rejoice,
but for those who love, time is eternity.

The director of Kurt Cobain: About A Son recommended it in an interview, and it sounds pretty interesting. I have read a little about it, and watched trailers.

I'm looking for answers from people who have actually seen this movie before. If you've seen it, what type of people would you recommend this film to? Who do you think would enjoy it?

thanks

I've heard several things about apple snails and wanted to get things straight:

1. Since it does take two snails to breed, are the males and females seperate or do they just exchange sperm?

2. If they are seperate, how do you tell the difference?

Anyone know how to/have tips on how to do a sexy growl type thing? I'm not sure what it is called or how to describe it, but you can see what I'm talking about here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1A6lJtgvXE (Gotta love how everything is on YouTube).

I'd love to be able to do it, but don't know where to start. I tried but I either end up with a rolling r (like you use in Spanish) or I sound like I'm trying to gargle (Very un-sexy).

If you can do it and can just describe where you put what and how you do it, I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Why does it seem that most gay (and bisexual) men never date outside their race? Most times I see latinos only stick to latinos, whites with whites, asians with asians, but when it comes to someone who is interracial (white/latino) (black/white), nobody really seems to be open to that person unless he identifies as being a "full race" or disgregards his other half.

And on a lot of sites most white guys seem to put down black men "as long as your not black" on their profiles, kind of stuff. Why is there a lot of racism within the gay community when gay people themselves already deal with prejudice for their sexual orientation?

The only people I see that are open to interracial gay dating are a number of black men. I also have seem some white/asian couples but other than that most white, asian, and latino gay men seem to be very racist. Why?

My wife and I have decided that we are not comfortable with anyone babysitting our 4.5 mo old daughter. We are not sure when or if we will change our minds on this and it has really upset my parents. My wife used to work with sexually abused children before quitting to become a mom / housewife which I am sure has impacted our decision on this. I am afraid this will impact my relationship with my parents. Any advice?

Here are a few famous quotes:

"I have too many fantasies to be a housewife.... I guess I am a fantasy."

"Some people have been unkind. If I say I want to grow as an actress, they look at my figure. If I say I want to develop, to learn my craft, they laugh. Somehow they don't expect me to be serious about my work."

"In Hollywood a girl's virtue is much less important than her hairdo. You're judged by how you look, not by what you are. Hollywood's a place where they'll pay you a thousand dollars for kiss, and fifty cents for your soul. I know, because I turned down the first offer often enough and held out for the fifty."

Pretty insightful quotes. Is it because of these sorts of quotes that many feminists, such as Gloria Steinem, have been attracted to Monroe as a sort of feminist figure (or perhaps just a symbol of oppression)? What do you think? Why does Monroe, despite her status as a sex symbol, appeal to some feminists more so than other bombshells?

Hey. I believe when you die all reality seizes to exist. i would like you to prove me wrong. all religions seem to point to a "heaven" however not all living things go to heaven, assuming their is one. so what happens to them?
this is what most likely happens to us. eternal nothing
we have all entered a game we can not win.
their will be a moment in everyones life when nothing matters.
i do not fear dying its the whole death part
