I've heard several things about apple snails and wanted to get things straight:

1. Since it does take two snails to breed, are the males and females seperate or do they just exchange sperm?

2. If they are seperate, how do you tell the difference?

It does not take 2 snails to breed! They multiply easily if the conditions are right eg. aquariums you only get one or two otherwise they may go wild in the water.
