That has been a problem all my life.
I was either too young and they were too old, or I was not good enough and they were to vain, or I was too good and they were too intimidated, or I was too old and they were not old enough, or they were too old and did not want to play anymore.
In short, play time was short and sweet and intermittent. I think that is why people have children, so that hopefully, they get a second time be in the game, if only as a spectator or a coach.
