Why does it seem that most gay (and bisexual) men never date outside their race? Most times I see latinos only stick to latinos, whites with whites, asians with asians, but when it comes to someone who is interracial (white/latino) (black/white), nobody really seems to be open to that person unless he identifies as being a "full race" or disgregards his other half.
And on a lot of sites most white guys seem to put down black men "as long as your not black" on their profiles, kind of stuff. Why is there a lot of racism within the gay community when gay people themselves already deal with prejudice for their sexual orientation?
The only people I see that are open to interracial gay dating are a number of black men. I also have seem some white/asian couples but other than that most white, asian, and latino gay men seem to be very racist. Why?

allow to to rephrase that, why are many gay men not open to interracial relationships, and why do many of them seem so closed off about even interacting with friends of other races. believe me i've seen it.

I agree that racism does exist in the LGBT community, it's just that some of us don't realize it does. There are guys who think that dating someone outside their race is too uncomfortable and maybe embarassing. With that being said, we all should learn how to appreciate and love people of every race, and not just people of our own. I am open to dating a person of just about any race, as long as they have something positive to bring to the table. I think in a way, this does relate to portraying bad stereotypes, for some guys. They are too ashamed to be with someone of a different color, and it goes to show that they don't know the real meaning of tolerance and acceptance.
Keep in mind, not all gay guys are like this as there are those of us out there who are open-minded enough to date a person of a different race. I know I am. For those select group of guys who are close-minded and ignorant, they are the very ones who will never find real, true love, as long as they continue portraying and flaunting their ignorance.

I dont know well enough on the actual research or situation to say that there is racism amongst the LGBT community RE race but what I do know is that, having to factor race in the equation to an already marginalized relationship to begin with (we are in the minority after all, if Kinsey's scale is to be believed) can only sadlle you and weigh you down even more.
Race is definitely one of the strongest stressors in a relationship (that much i know from the research) and you have to face more obstacles than if you dated in a same-race relationship.
Im not saying this to be racist, its just a fact of life that there are more things to consider when you date someone outside your race.
That said, I'm also a "half-breed" (mixture of races) so anyone Im with will always be "dating outside my race". My partner and I are nearing our 10th year together and I have to say that it has been wonderful.

Well, I'm not sure that I have witnessed this myself but I can think of one major reason that some gay men may not be open to interracial dating. That is: They are already an anomaly dating another man so why make it worse by dating another man of a different race?
I can't say that I agree with that mindset because it's very closed minded and I think that it accomplishes nothing in a community that is supposed to be about unity but I think that's where a lot of them are coming from.

I must live in Oz. Many (most, even) of the gay couples that I know are interracial. There's always going to be people who don't prefer one thing or another. But, I wouldn't say that anti-interracial dating is an epidemic in the gay community. At least no more than in the straight community.

I know how you feel. I have similar views. I don't really care as much about the interracial thing but I would be irked if a family member was having a homosexual marriage. Honestly though, I would go to the wedding. I know you are probably thinking that you don't want to condone what he is doing by showing up to his wedding. If you went to the wedding it would show that you love him unconditionally. Even though you guys have differences, he is your brother and it would probably upset him not to have you there. It would be a tough thing for me too, but not showing up for a siblings wedding could create some family hurt that might be regretted in the long run.

I think you are stereotyping. Some people just aren't attracted to people of other races, what is the issue with that? I've seen plenty of gay men in interracial relationships...

Who told you that!? Stereotyping a bit, aren't we? There are just as much interracial gay couples as there are straight couples.
Some people have certain preferences that they prefer to stick to, and there's nothing wrong with that. I'm going to assume you're straight for the time being and say it's like you preferring to date a girl instead of a guy. It's a preference that you'd prefer to stick to. Not that hard.
Just like us though, there shouldn't be any sort of hatred or segregation in the least.
Maybe these gay guys were raised to only like those of their own ethnicity. It has nothing to do with them being gay.
I still ask, where on earth did you hear all of this from!? I'm sure there still a lot of racist people, despite their sexual preferences. Try checking in the deep south areas. You might get lucky.
Don't go around stereo-typing, okay? It's bad for you ^_^.

I know of many mixed race relationships including my own (he Is Chinese). Same thing for straights. Granted there is some racism amongst some gays and lesbians but that evil is not limited to them for there are racist straights as well.

Red or yellow black or white...who cares.. its mostly personality for me and the colour of there skin doesn't matter to me.
Unfortunately we have lots in our community that discriminate against others and not just races. Everyone should just suck it up and get to know others before passing judgement by something so superficial.
I just wish we could all get along!
