Do PETA supporters not eat meat because of the way they are treated beforehand (ie:slaughterhouse) or for the sole reason of eating an animal?

If it is for the sole reason of eating an animal, how come they don't realize that hundreds of other animals eat meat (other animals obviously)? Why don't they go yell at a jaguar for eating a gazelle? We just happen to be more dominant, therefore we get to eat all the tasty meat we want.

I am against animal cruelty, but I love eating meat.

I think it's ok to eat burgers, but not ok to eat fries because fries are fried in unhealthy oil which clogs your arteries. I think you would still be healthy if you just eat burgers and skip the fries.

I was just wondering, what phylums are flowering plants. Wikipedia says it is Magnoliophyta, but my biology teacher says that it is wrong.

I met this guy the other night, and I fell really hard for him. I really, REALLY like this guy, but I am afraid that I will scare him off (like I always seem to do with guys.) I don't know all the "rules" of dating, and I don't know where to go from here. We exchanged email addresses, and I don't know how long to wait before I email him. He is friends with a couple of my other friends, and they said that he is the most shy person they've ever met, meaning he will never make the first move...and they said he probably has never had a serious girlfriend. I know I have to be careful about the way I approach this, I just don't know how to do it. Can anyone help me? I really like him, and I want to do it the right way this time. Every other time I go for a guy, I always seem to scare them off, and I don't want to do that this time.
