why is it that all faiths in the world believe they are the only ones right.why do they believe that there one book can sum up a entity that created the universe and everything in it and more.do we forget that there has been many other faiths in the past that believed as strongly in there god or gods as the faiths of the world do now such as the Greeks believed in there gods.why is it wrong for new proven facts to come out and be accepted even if it destroys the faith systems we have now?

Actually there are some religions that do not only think that they are right. Unificationism, the Unification Church, basically believes that all relgions follow basically the same God and they want all of Gods children to be united. I do not belong to that church, but I do know several people who are.

I am a Christian, and quite honestly, if we have our own faiths, why would we believe something else to be true? Then we would not have that faith. It just is something that does not make sense.

Good question, but I dont think anyone is ever able to PROVE anything about religion to the point of "beyond the shadow of a doubt". Religion is all about faith and belief.. You either have faith in something or you don't. There are 2 sides to every story. Example: I have a chair that I know is strong enough to hold me even tho it looks like it is falling apart. This is faith. You may look at the same chair and say that is is not strong enough and that is your belief. Does that make us wrong or you wrong or me wrong just because we have different opinions about the chair???

Not all faiths believe that.

I was raised Roman Catholic and I was taught that all faiths that teach love of self, God and others has at least part of God's truth. The Church is not Bible-Only based. We also use our tradition and common sense -- something that is often missing when people approach their holy books.

We believe that since God is infinite and we are finite, no one person or even one whole religion will have a perfectly accurate picture of God in their tenets. As a Catholic I believe the Church has the most complete picture of God in its teachings, but I respect any religion that teaching love of others and God and self.

The reason all faiths believe they are the only one (a few exceptions of course) is because there is only one way to get somewhere. Pick any place on earth you want to go to....just for SAG we'll pick the 400 Block of 42nd Street in Midtown Manhattan New York. From a long way off it might seem there are a trillian ways to get there. But once you get close you realize that at some point you MUST actually get to New York, you MUST get to Manhattan and you MUST get to 42nd street.

The further out you are the more options you seem to have in getting to your destination. But as you get closer you realize that there is only one way to go and you choices become fewer as you progress. For example once you are on the eastern seaboard you would not typically travel through LA to reach New York. Once in Staten Island you would not go through Albany to reach Manhattan.

There may be many roads but there is only one road that will take you through all the waypoints you need to pass in order to get to your destination. Same logic can apply to religions and faith in their journey to their gods.

Because its easy. Considering all the possibilities would require more time and thinking. Its easier just to say "im right, everyone else is wrong" and try not to think about it to much.

Satan is a powerful, intelligent being who will stop at nothing to carry out his ends. As the master manipulator of mankind, he has many methods and tools at his disposal.

In a sense, his immediate goal—keeping mankind separate from God—is relatively easy. As humans we are naturally inclined to focus on our own selfish wants. As Paul puts it, "those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires" (Romans 8:5, NIV). Those whose minds are focused on themselves are, whether they realize it or not, "hostile to God" (verse 7, NIV).

Quoting from several Psalms, Paul summarizes the spiritual condition of most of humanity: "There is no one who is righteous, not even one; there is no one who has understanding, there is no one who seeks God. All have turned aside, together they have become worthless; there is no one who shows kindness, there is not even one . . . Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery are in their paths, and the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes" (Romans 3:10-18, NRSV).

As a master of persuasion, Satan easily deceives mankind into focusing on anything but God. Through the theory of evolution, for example, he has convinced millions that God doesn't exist.

Through hundreds of corrupt religions he has convinced billions of people to worship the sun, moon and stars, animals, nature, deceased ancestors, imaginary gods and goddesses and a bewildering variety of other things—or nothing at all. Even among the many varieties of traditional Christianity we find people divided and bickering over who and what God is, His purpose for us, what He wants us to do and how we should live. The devil has done an effective job of confusing people as to what the Bible really says.

Satan doesn't care which of these groups people fall into. Whether they believe in no God at all, accept and worship a false god or are deceived into a false view of the true God and His plan for us, Satan still has them where he wants them—"alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart" (Ephesians 4:18).

Perhaps this helps us better understand what God means when He tells us that the devil "deceives the whole world" (Revelation 12:9). Paul explains that "the god of this age" has blinded those "who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them" (2 Corinthians 4:4).

In one of His parables Jesus explains that, as soon as some people hear God's truth, "the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved" (Luke 8:12). Satan will stop at nothing to keep people blinded to the fullness of God's truth. The result, as Jesus explained, is that "the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it," and "the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it" (Matthew 7:13-14, NRSV).

If you pound something into a child`s head from the time they learn to talk then it is extremely hard to consider anything else after it grows up.

It's not about what WE think...it's about what God says about Himself.

That is truth.
