In my own family I have a niece who mentioned she would like to join the air force after graduation . Her father served for twenty years and is a successful employee of a major defense contractor making 6 figures a year .
The dilemma is that support for her decision is weak and her mom refuses to even talk about it other then to forbid it .
At 18 she is free to do as she wants and will follow her own path in life .
So why is it that within my own family of so called conservatives they will not support the military that has been so good to them financially by offering up one of four children to the military . The older boys in 2002/2005 were counseled against joining the services , And went immediately to college to pursue legal and business degrees .

I have to wonder why so called conservatives who support the war do not actively support the war when their children mention they want to join .

I need help translating this Latin to English. As you can probably see i'm not getting it very well.

Vulcanus* de terra dura formam feminae pulchrae sua arte (abl. of means, by his own art) creavit. Minerva ei (to her) vestes (clothes, acc. pl.) argenteas* donavit. Etiam ei (to her) Vulcanus coronam auream donavit; Iuppiter ei (to her) ollam* donavit. Dei et deae feminam pulchram amaverunt --erat similis *deae. Ei nomen (her name) erat Pandora, quod omnes (all, nom. pl) deorum ei (to her) dona donaverunt.

Vulcan formed beautiful women by his own creation from the hard earth. A godesss gives her clothes of silver. Also Vulcan gives her golden crowns; luppiter gives her a jar. Gods and Godessess beautiful women love is likened to goddesses. Her name is Pandora, it is to her which all is given to.

Dei Pandoram ad terram miserunt (sent, perfect tense). Sed Pandora erat curiosa*. Pandora operculum (lid, acc. sing.) ollae removit. In olla erant tota mala (evils, nom. pl) virorum! Mala in totas terras et aquas volaverunt. Eheu! (Oh!) Solum (only) una anima in olla mansit--Spes (hope, nom. sing). Spes *** viris remansit.

The God Pandora was sent to earth. But Pandora is curious. Pandora removed the lid from the jar. In the jar are all the evils of man. They prefer to fly in all land and water. Oh! Only one spirit stays in the jar --- hope. Hope remains with man.

*Vulcanus = Vulcan, Roman god of the forge
* Minerva = Minerva, Roman goddess of war
*olla, -ae, f. = jar
*argenteus, -a, -um = of silver
* similis is followed by the dative case (likened to...)
*curiosus, -a, -um = curious

Ok, so Im kinda worried about my penis size. Im 18 and its only 4.5 inches erect. And I know what your all going to say: "oh, you shouldnt be worrying about that stuff"; or "But thats just below average, your fine", but its not fine. All these 16 yearolds out here complaining that their penis is only 8 inches,
boo hoo!
( and none of this 'its not the size, its how you use it' crap, because I know that thats not true) I guess im just looking for some helpful reassurance (and dont mind my b**ching, im just really self-concious).

Theoretically it seems like a good balance, but a lot of people seem to not be satisfied with it--either leaning toward a 9 mm or .45.

I'm considering a .40 for a first handgun since it seems it would be a good balance between the .9mm and .45.

Would you agree with this or is it better to stick with the .9 mm or .45 (if so I'm leaning toward the .45 --is this reasonable?)? Thanks.

I heard recently that some people, in an effort to be more green, are no longer using toilet tissue and opting to use a washable cloth or cloths. I suppose it is much in the manner of a cloth diaper in the way that once you use it to clean with you would place it in a recepticle for cleaning. Is this something you do or would consider doing to help the environment?

They'd rather play in Arizona (400 miles away) or give Texans a free home game (1000miles away) instead of just driving an hour an a half north and just playing in the LA Coliseum...Does the NFL really want to spite LA that much? Both UCLA and USC are away so no one is using the site. What's the deal?

If a priest leaves the church then decides he made a mistake, can he come back to be a priest if he kept all his vows? If a priest becomes possessed, leaves the church then goes through and exorcism, is he still allowed to return as a practicing priest?

I have a mail server that has ~30 IPs attached to it. If I do a rDNS lookup it comes back to a FQDN and that FQDN resolves back to that ip. What are some reasons ISPs would fail. Could my system be technically correct though not follow best practices?

(I know this is a big question and difficult to answer without the IPs and Domains in question)

i've had this dream where all of a sudden i feel like i have a bunch of rocks in my mouth and i start spitting them out, but they are always my teeth, but they are smaller like the little pebbles you find on a playground, and i can just keep spitting them out, like i have 4x as many teeth as usual.

it might happen during any dream, its not always the same dream, but its something that happens oftin. usually there is no injury preceeding it, i'll just be sitting there and there they are. and there is never and blood, just teeth. its usually sooooo vivid that i wake up not knowing if i have teeth.

I have always heard that the superstition about throwing salt over your shoulder goes back to Mesopotamian civilization. So, do you observe any superstitions? Have you ever seen a ghost? UFO? Monster?

Do you know anyone else who has?

Alright well basically, I bought a Halo 3 Limitied Edition Xbox 360 controller from this guy on eBay and paied via personal cheque: I sent the cheque off about 3 weeks ago (we are both in the Uk so it wouldn't have taken that long to actually get to him). Yesterday, I started to get a bit worried as to where my controller was, so I check the profile of the guy who sold it to me, and it said "No longer a registered eBay member" or "This member is no longer registered", whatever.

Does this mean that I've been scammed? I was thinking that the seller might have sent my controller to me BEFORE un-registering and it might just be taking a long time, but the question is why the seller would de-register right after making a sale in the first place.

>.<;;

I have been seeing this man for a little over a month now and he is great. I had just three months earlier gotten out a 1 yr relationship which was dreadful. He knows what I went through and has been standing by my side. We were friends first so keep that in mind. He tells me all the time he is so happy things happened the way they did that we are together now. It just happened neither one of us were looking for a realationship we like i said were just friends enjoying each others company. Then one night we kissed and it has been nothing but up hill from there. There are so many times that I feel I am falling in love with him already and I feel real strong he feels the same way we are just (I think) both scared of the other persons reaction. He says everyting he can possibly say to me about how he cares about me except those 3 words. Me to.

Is it to soon to love someone and when is it appropriate to say it to one another????? Please help!!

We took all the paneling around the windows and doors cause we are redoing the drywall and flooring, but a lot of the wood has nail holes in it.

We want to fill in those holes and paint the wood.

Is it okay to use regular caulk instead of wood putty? (Wood putty is just so much more expensive!!)

It is written in Ephesians4 that Jesus gave these ministries to some for... The perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministries, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come in the unity of the faith, & of the knowledge of he Son of God unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.

This hasn't been fulfilled yet. So? The Church still needs each of these offices in operation.
