Anymore?

It is written in Ephesians4 that Jesus gave these ministries to some for... The perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministries, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come in the unity of the faith, & of the knowledge of he Son of God unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.

This hasn't been fulfilled yet. So? The Church still needs each of these offices in operation.

CatholicCrusader? I was asking about the ministries of the 5 fold ministries.

Deacons, Priests & Bishops are ministries. In the Order of the Church & then there is a leader of the individual Church who be the ministry of Pastor. So? These 3 are under the Pastor in the Church. And Jesus Christ is our High Priest after the order of Melchezedek. In Revelation, Jesus Christ who has loved us & washed us from our sins in his own lood, & has made us kings & priests unto God & His Father. To Him be glory & dominion forever & ever. Amen.

pappy, We haven't come into the unity of faith yet. See the denominational divisions. See there are still peoples who have never heard the Gospel. See that many Christians are babies & many need to mature in Christ. See there are many who aren't yet Christians. In the Churches, we have the Word of God but also a few tares here & there. With the tares comes divisions. Divisions aren't unity.

Edification....Now there is a wonderful word but sometimes I wonder if christians understand it fully????
I mean when I had the very burden of my miserable life of sin removed like a tremendous weight lifted from my heart I believe that I was in fact edified! Praise GOD! No more burdens because now all I have to do is to Deny, Devote, Determine and Die!
Wonder how people like Jesus puts up with HIS Father's creation.....Don't you?

Northstar : IF POSSIBLE, the very elect would be deceived. IF POSSIBLE !!! It is not possible for the very elect to be deceived !
Also, I agree with us being in the "age of deception".
There WILL be, however, a perfecting....and Satan cannot stop it ! He is trying ! That's why the saints are going through so many trials and spiritual oppression now. To perfect ! And, the elect WILL come together in UNITY of the faith !!! Halleluiah !!! Tighten your seat belts saints, cause it will be a rough ride !

There is too much emphasis on the traditions of the church compared to the principles given by its Founder.

ADDED: 4 Thumbs down...a new record. Interesting. Notice I didn't say anything at all against or for the askers premise...just offered a reason why I think a lot of Christians seem to be leaning that way.

My personal belief is that all of these ministries are vital in the church. My comment is based upon my observations of the way the different people in these positions have behaved and the attitude of others towards them.

For example:

Instead of humility, there is pride
Instead of service, there is prestige
Instead of the Truth, there is Church Politics

And in return, too many times these leaders get:

Jealousy over their gifts, flamed for speaking out against someone's pet project or greed, taken for granted, used up and tossed aside. And God forbid they dare say that as for salvation, one sin is no better or worse than any other as it all seperates us from God.

Some of you Christians should read the venom in your responses. What are you offering the world that they don't already have?

I am sorry but we have come to the unity of the Faith.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for Doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect,( complete) thoroughly(completely) furnished unto all good works.

2 Peter 1:3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.

James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect (complete) law of liberty
.
The only offices (positions) in the church are, Bishop, (there are more names for the same position) Deacons & preachers (teachers).

Apostles- No one can be an apostle today, no one meets the qualification, Acts 1:21-22 Wherefore of these men which have compainied with us all the time that the Lor Jesus went in and out amoung us, Begining from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us,(vers1-11) must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.

Prophets- Acts 3:22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God rase up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.(23) And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

Jude- 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for mw to wriye unto you, And exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once deliverd unto the saints.

1Cor. 13:8- Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether ther be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

I really needed a pastor and teachers when I started believing. To help answer all my questions. I needed people around me who believed like I do, at least in things important.

I don't see a need for Apostles, Prophets and Evangelists. I associate these modern day people with untruth.

It is the end of the world as we know it.Every christian wants to go to Heaven but no one wants to obey GOD. Remember, Jesus said ' not everyone who calls me LORD,LORD will enter the kingdom of Heaven. Praise the LORD.

We desperately need them.

Unfortunately, many of the people today who call themselves "evangelists" are preaching a false doctrine of a fundamentalistic, watered-down, man-made message and not the original message of love that Jesus gave us.

I believe it is because people are so used to having there lives governed that they can't think or act for themselves without outside input. People don't know how to be free thinkers.

Very good question. STAR FOR YOU .
