It depends. Do you know why your depressed? From time to time I have been depressed. Never enough to send me to a doctor, but...do you take vitamins? Do you eat right? A vitamin deficiency will bring on depression. Start taking a multiple vitamin. And one of the repsonsers is right on. Get some sun. Change your surroundings. If you are in the house all the time, get out. It's amazing how depression turns into OCD, too. You find you're cleaning all the time, or some other thing, but it sounds as if you need to pay some attention to you. Also, St. John's Wort works for some people. And EXCERCISE!!! Even walking will help. Good luck.

You are already half way there! You realize that you are depressed and want to do something about it. I think that is fantastic.
People deal with depression in different ways, most are not good for you or healthy, overeating, NOT eating, drinking etc..
Do your research learn the different ways to deal with depression. You said you are going to have 2 weeks vacation. That may be the key to what you need. Removing yourself from what is depressing you for a short time. More that likely you are going to have to return to work though so you will need to address what is depressing you about the job. School the same thing.
Tackle one thing at a time so you wont get overwhelmed. Don't hesitate to speak with your Dr. There are several medications that might help you and can be taken short term
I wish you all the best.

There's a difference between depression and stress. If what you're feeling is just a natural reaction to what's going on in your life, you're under stress and you need to either change the situation to reduce your stress or work on ways of coping with it. Sometimes stress is your body's way of telling you you're due for a change in your job or your habits. On the other hand, if you're depressed all the time even when there's no reason for it, you're clinically depressed and you should seek psychiatric help.

try yoga and meditation. void stressful situations and keep track of your schedule. If your depression is or becomes prolonged, go to a doctor and tell them your symptoms. They can refer you to a psychiatrist and/or psychologist. The psychiatrist would prescribe medications if the depression is severe enough. The psychologist would help support you and give you advice regularly.
Good luck and I hope you feel better =]
