Alright well basically, I bought a Halo 3 Limitied Edition Xbox 360 controller from this guy on eBay and paied via personal cheque: I sent the cheque off about 3 weeks ago (we are both in the Uk so it wouldn't have taken that long to actually get to him). Yesterday, I started to get a bit worried as to where my controller was, so I check the profile of the guy who sold it to me, and it said "No longer a registered eBay member" or "This member is no longer registered", whatever.

Does this mean that I've been scammed? I was thinking that the seller might have sent my controller to me BEFORE un-registering and it might just be taking a long time, but the question is why the seller would de-register right after making a sale in the first place.

You can obtain the user's contact information even after he "unregisters". Follow the complaint system in eBay. The will try to resolve the issue for you--this worked for me twice in the past.

I'd stop payment on that cheque, if it's not too late and contact eBay. It definitely sounds like you've been scammed. I doubt he even had a controller to sell you in the first place.

You have very possibly gotten scammed. He might have been kicked off ebay for doing this kind of thing before, might not have left voluntarily.

I agree.....you need to contact EBay immediately. I feel sure they can straighten it out. You may have to put a stop payment on the check (if it hasn't been cashed already).

Look into filing a dispute on Ebay, they will try to resolve it. Then get Paypal and get a verified account - they protect buyers from fraud.
