OK.

A friend of mine who is 14 (I'm 16) who is going through a lot of crap right now (Her father is dying from a genetic disease that she has, her mother has severe MS, and her sisters are mean) has started cutting herself. I cut too, though, so we have really bonded (Yes, I'm safe about it. It's just a negative coping mechanism, nothing to freak out over). We are like sisters.

Well, her mother walked in on her cutting, yelled at her because it is "just for attention" and then on Friday took her to a general practitioner who put her on antidepresants and ordered counseling.

I am horrified! A general practitioner ordered antidepressants for a young teen? And then sent her to a counseler instead of a pyshicatrist? They can't even change her prescription! And what does a general practitioner know about treating 14 year old girls?

Anyway, my friend asked me if I would go with her to her first session. Is that acceptable? She said she trusts me more than anyone else she knows..

Please please please nobody get mad! This is just a question I want some different answers to, from both sides;

Bottle-feeders;

As much as you get on here and say you're so happy you chose to bottle-feed and your kid is just as healthy, smart, etc., why are you mostly the ones who get on here and say 'Why is breastfeeding so special?' It just seems like you're second-guessing yourselves and trying to feel better about it. You know the research, and as much as you can say 'My kid's just as healthy as someone's kid I know who's breastfed', studies look at millions of babies as a group, not your kid compared to your friend's.

Breastfeeders;

As secure as I'm sure you are with your decision, don't always answer those questions and get all defensive about it. Nobody condemns you for breastfeeding and no matter how much you tell someone who bottle-feeds that it's better for their baby, they obviously look past that and are stuck to their decision! It's a CHOICE!

I told her everything abt this guy who Claims to be in love with her but was a no.1 Flirt... and he doesnt really run that much. He looks more like a bear cub (he is kind of chubby). He would lick us occasionally and tries to play with our children but most of the time he prefers to sit or sleep in his gated corner...he eats well and 99% of the time releases himself outside.
does this sound normal?? i am worried about hip displasia - can you even tell at this age by the way they walk?

Why does my son fake tears.? Am I doing something wrong.? Everytime my husband and I put him to bed at around 9 texas time he fake cries so I will sit in his room for a good hour and he just plays and fake cries (no tears) so I will baby him and ask him whats wrong. BUT, there is no tears? So after an hour of sitting by his bed I will walk out of the room and within 5 minutes of me being gone he will be sleeping. Am I babying him to much?
