All these item mentioned earlier are totally useless. Do you want your friends actually use them? Or you want them just put them away? Buy somethings are useful, i.e. small monogram handbags for the ladies, and billfolds for the boys. Tumi has good selection in this area. You don't need to spend your honeymoon money. You want your friends stay as your forever friends. I got stuff I will never use or keep. Of course, you just wants to say thank you to the wedding couples. Now it is your chance to make a memorable gift which your friends will treasure. A small crystall clock from Waterford or Onedi would be okay for both sexes. It is your very Special Day, make it last forever!

We were practical. We had wine specially made for each girl, with labels with their names and a message with our wedding date. Then had wine glasses, charms, tea lights, and some other stuff that went along with the theme. For the guys, we gave them each coolers with steaks and beer. It went over very well. We figured we never use or even look at the items we have received from being in other's weddings, so why add to people's collections.

I am having a local gal make custom necklaces and earrings for my girls to wear during the wedding as well as it being their gift for being in the wedding. Not sure what we are getting the men yet, probably monogramed flasks.

You don't have to get them all the same thing. Whatever you choose make sure that it's something they would like and enjoy. If you wouldn't get it for their birthday don't get it for your wedding.
For instance personalized cufflinks is OK for wedding day but what are they going to do with it after that. Same thing with a flask....do your groomsmen regularly carry around bottles of alcohol?
Ours are getting fishing rods and a guided trip with the groom the weekend before the wedding. One of them who doesn't do outdoorsy things is getting a gift certificate to Game Stop since he loves his Xbox 360.

For our wedding, the boys got flasks shaped like cell phones, and the girls got Miss Army knives. They loved their gifts and I see them using them all the time.
