When a girl likes a guy, you can tell her whatever you want about him and she is still going to like him. She has to learn the hard way about a guy.

She probably told him exactly what you said and a little more. So the guy got mad and wanted to fight you. She likes him so much that she told him she was sorry and said nothing to you. So you should just let them be. If the guy is bad for her, then she will find out soon enough. There is nothing you can do to save her from him. She will have to learn the hard way. You might have to be there for her when she runs to you with her broken heart in her hands.

Were your motives pure or did you have an ulterior agenda. If your motives were pure, were you sufficiently close to her to tell her that kind of truth. If your motives were colored by your own desire for her, maybe that was all that came through. Either way, learn from this episode. You have to be careful in what you tell people in love and how you tell them especially if you have an interest in them. I would advise that you just back away for now because she is in love and will not hear or listen to anything you have to say now.Trying to do the right thing can be painful but it does not make you a jerk in any way ,shape, or form.Sometimes, people are not willing to learn or accept the truth about someone they may care about or love. Assuming your initial intentions were noble, continue to be a nice guy.Good luck.

if you liked her, and you care about her and your friendship then yes it was the right thing to do.
maybe she likes drama and thats where the whole telling him comes into play.
thats low of her to do though, you were looking out for her.
and he shouldve handled it in a more rational fashion also.
