The BATTLE between JAMES and PAUL
You would think Christianity would give a clear guidance on this incredibly important foundation of faith !!
Man is justified by faith alone
-------------------------------
Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.
ROM 3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
ROM 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Romans 5:21
so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
ROM 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
GAL 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
Gal 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, [it is] evident: for, The just shall live by faith. 12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
GAL 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that crucified/hangeth on a tree
GAL 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
Rom 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath [whereof] to glory; but not before God.
Ephesians 2:8,9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith . . . not of works."
Ephesians 2:5
made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
Titus 2:11
For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.
Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
2 Timothy 1:9
who has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,
Titus 3:7
so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.
Man is NOT justified by faith alone
-----------------------------------
James 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?,
22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent [them] out another way?
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Rom 2:13(For not the hearers of the law [are] just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
James 2:24 "Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only."
ECC 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
