His name was Og. He saw lightning hit a tree by his cave. At the same time, the tree toppled onto a wooly mammoth and cooked it to a nice medium well.

Og tried the mammoth and realized it was much better than what his wife Oogala was fixing. Also, since it was cold and rainy, the fire warmed him and kept the saber-toothed tigers at bay.

Og could not duplicate his discovery except during thunderstorms. His neighbor Gagh figured out how to make fire by banging two flint rocks together. Unfortunately, since there was no patent office, Og never saw a cent from his discovery. Gagh kept the secret and shared it with only a select few. He later had his henchman Bok stave in Og's head with a club to shut him up.

Gagh was subsequently chosen leader of his clan, thus giving birth to the first politician.

Probably early in time, the Homo-erectus life. From a lightening strike. A real good movie styled after it called "fire" an older one but, good, will explain a lot.

They probably carried it around with them and treated it as a God or a type of Superior being, adored it.
It kept them warm, later food maybe fell into it, they tried eating it due to a food shortage, it was good. It started from here.

If the Neanderthal was around for about 130,00 years, I would guess then it was here about, since 125,000 years or more before the Neanderthal. There was always charred wood ash where ever they were found.

Unfortunately, the first time they thought they discovered fire it was in fact the wheel and they spent several thousand years trying to cook over it.
