A few old rifles were just passed down to me and I'm trying to find out what make, model, etc this one gun is. It has "9724" engraved on it in multiple places, "Mod 98" is engraved on the side, as well as what looks like the Nazi Germany Insignia. My first thought was that it's a Mauser Model 98 or similar, but I'm definitely no gun expert so any help would be greatly appreciated. One person is extremely energetic and excitable, has a million things going on at once, and happens to be a dog-lover. Is there a very hyper cartoon dog character?

You trapped in a no win situation. A natural occurance has put in a place where you have no way out. There is a 99% chance you are going to die. Where do you get the hope or faith to go on? I do not want to hear about survival insticts that all animals (including humans) have. In a desprate situation we all something that keeps us going I want to know what it is.

religious texts that allegedly prophesied such events past, present, and/or near future?

These "prophesies" are nothing more then statistical probabilities that come from experience, evaluation, guess work, assumption, and, mostly, plain old chance.If I were to prophesied something without giving an exact date, the chances of it happening at some point is astronomically in my favor.Does that make me a prophet who got my information from God?

I have a friend in the Israel military, and he says that the US army helped during the last war with Lebanon, but that's not fighting on behalf of a country. USA should replace the Israel army, so as to avoid Israel's deaths, as they are doing partially.

Personally, i didnt see that one coming, i thought for sure it would be given to Simon Gagne.

Thoughts about the captain choice...

Is it possible to have a set of moral values but not be religious? For example, much of the time I don't feel religious (God, heaven and Hell are too hard to believe in) but I still feel like I have a set of moral values. I almost never usually cheat or steal, and I would only kill someone in war or extreme circumstances. And if I do cheat or steal I always feel bad about it (can't yet imagine what it would feel like to kill someone, I imagine not very nice). Does this make me religious?

PS: Please don't post answers telling me to go to church or start praying or anything like that. I'm only interested in your opinion regarding the relations between moral values and religion.

Hi all, I am about to hire this chef to bake a baby shower cake for my friend's shower but I'm not sure if $50 is too much or not? The chef will deliver the cake to the party which is in the same city, the cake will serve 20 people and it's just a basic cake with pregnant belly on it. So is $50 a reasonable price for such an easy cake with just a fondant made belly and dress?

The camera will be for personal use only, but I would still like it to:
-Take good sharp pictures (good focus, not blurry)
-Have a good flash and take bright pictures for the night and indoor pictures
-Be durable, since I use it often and take thousands of pictures.
-Has a good battery life and uses a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery(regular batteries don't last long since I'll be taking tons of pictures, and it gets too expensive)
-Be able to take video clips
