i use neither. I use country crock. Nothing worse then wanting to make a sand which and the butter or margarine is hard. Then you put it in the microwave. Only to have over heated it and now you have a puddle of margarine or butter that is of no use. I do not bake so I do not buy the butter or margarine. I have been told you can NOT bake with country crock. But I do not know.

It depends. I try and cut down on using butter and margarine whenever I can. If I have a sandwich I use either mashed avocado or I don't worry about using anything. When I cook and the recipe needs butter or margarine then I use it. If I had to choose I do prefer the taste of butter as margarine is quite tasteless.

I use butter. Contrary to popular mis-information; butter is better for you than margarine.
Margarine in poison for those who make it...and it doesn't break down in the body. It is chemical...it's vapors toxic to those who make it.
Butter is a dairy product. Yes it has fat in it...good for the joints in later life. Healthy. Cows produce it. It is natural, wholesome and tasty. No chemical additives. Not harmful to the producers of butter.
It's not a food product that should be used in heavy doses because of its fat content, nevertheless...butter makes for great veggies, meats, baked goods and is deliscious on home baked bread. Butter is a product that will help to protect joints cartiledge from wearing out too soon.
Dr. Oz on Oprah, said today that high fiber only diets are harmful to the digestive system...we do need fats in our diet. Butter is a non-chemical healthy form of fat that tastes great and compliments entree's well.

Both. It depends on the usage. I like real butter much better, but its also more expensive, so I use real butter when it counts and margarine when its not so important.

If it calls for butter and it looks like something special, I go for it. But if it calls for a large amount of butter, then it is going to have to be margarine. They both have good and bad properties.
