Why do people say USA is fighting on behalf of Israel?

I have a friend in the Israel military, and he says that the US army helped during the last war with Lebanon, but that's not fighting on behalf of a country. USA should replace the Israel army, so as to avoid Israel's deaths, as they are doing partially.

Isreal was the primary front of the so called "War on Terror" before the current American expeditions in the Middle East. Considering that Isreal is our primary ally in the region, we supply the means of defense of Israel and the continued existance of Israel is central to our diplomatic stance in the Middle East, we are often seen as fighting on behalf of Israel when we are fighting in Iraq.

Israel is the primary target of extremist rhetoric and Saddam supported violence against Israel, therefore the war in Iraq could be viewed as being fought on behalf of Israeli interests.

Well to be fair just about all allied nations fight along side each other, it doesn't mean there are the under the policy the other nation, just offering help as a form of aid (plus it doubles up for spying too). We all know the Yanks look out for themselves only as they figure the planet is named the USA not Earth. They want there to be discord in the middle east as it forces prices up at home and allows for higher tax collection and decresed spending on the public with less reason. The destruction of the weapons arsenal also allows for newer more expensive replacements. I'm amazed wel.. not really as to how many ignorant Americans post idol bull **** threats showing us all how dumb they truely are beleiveing the propaganda from their government and sadley think they are really doing good. People today think lots more about what they choose to buy with what it really supports. GM is no longer king of money or number of vehicles produced, very few people now travel there, compared to a few years ago. More embassies closed abroad than ever in its history since WWII. Trillion dollar losses around the globe due to loan payment failures. The gap of poor and wealthy growing bigger every day on the US soil. Not that all people down there are like that but the majority are which give the impression globally that the whole nation is a bunch of over armed hill billies out of control, being rouge. The world is sick of it and can no longer support it financally or enviromentally. I know for me with our dollar being stronger than theirs and still getting stiffed makes me want to buy abroad, but not from those freaks. That would aid them to stock pile even more weapons of mass destruction, weapons to fight drug crimes which they have zero inerest in stopping as it's an industry down there. Not being cunstructive in anyway much to the average person on the whole. Of course, US should send more soldiers to Israel than now, but keep it secret like currently, so nobody will complain if USA soldiers keep diying while Israel's soldiers stay alive. USA is helping Israel not only with billions of dollars and weapons, but also with human lives.

the whole war on terror is for two things.
1.to push the israeli agenda for a greater israel in the region.
2.push the cost of a barrell of oil to over 200 dollars after the attacks on iran, which in turn will wipe out the middle class, which in turn will cause america to stop the funding of israel and the 1.2 trillion dollars we have GIVEN israel militarily. perhaps that is the silver lining in all of this. if israel is left to stand on its own feet alone, after they destroyed america and drained us dry, they will surely be destroyed by the arab armies when we can't come to their aid any longer.
