I'm confused.
John Kerry told me that $100,000 / yr in a household makes you "rich" and that "rich people" like this shouldn't get tax cuts - they should contribute more.
But now I'm reading about the SCHIP proposal, and my Democratic leaders are telling me that $84,000 / yr in a household makes you "poor" and that your kids need "free health insurance."
I'm confused, is it that everything under 84k is poor, and everything over 100k is rich? I never realized the middle class was so small!
But yeah anyway, why aren't they taking money for SCHIP from the rich? Why do they keep proposing taxes like gas and cigarettes that take more from the people at the bottom?
Maybe, everyone under $84,000 is poor and therefor shouldn't pay taxes! What about that?
