I'm confused.

John Kerry told me that $100,000 / yr in a household makes you "rich" and that "rich people" like this shouldn't get tax cuts - they should contribute more.

But now I'm reading about the SCHIP proposal, and my Democratic leaders are telling me that $84,000 / yr in a household makes you "poor" and that your kids need "free health insurance."

I'm confused, is it that everything under 84k is poor, and everything over 100k is rich? I never realized the middle class was so small!

But yeah anyway, why aren't they taking money for SCHIP from the rich? Why do they keep proposing taxes like gas and cigarettes that take more from the people at the bottom?

Maybe, everyone under $84,000 is poor and therefor shouldn't pay taxes! What about that?

OK, so if you live in a blue state you might actually BE POOR on 84k a year. Wait, is that supposed to be an argument in favor of Democrat policies? That they can make people earning 84k poor?

Ewww, no wonder you guys think we need government help.

$84k is poor now? Wow. I don't even make that much and I'm not crying poor.

Whatever happened to people who supported their own kids on their own health insurance policy? Or does this mean the parents go without health care and are only thinking of their kids?

Don't believe anything the socialists tell you.

84k a year in no way makes one person poor.

Dems once again prove they are idiots

I am poor, and I don't need health care for children. Liberals want government to run everything. Liberals want to run the government. Everything they do or say is an attempt to reach that end.

It really depends on where you live, and the size of your family. I live in NYC (in Brooklyn)... me and my girlfriend both make 40K.. household of 80K... we barely get by.
If we had a kid, or kids... we'd be scraping.

amount spent > amount earned = poor

doesn't matter about specific numbers, interest will eat away at your money.
