The best one to take is a very good question for your obgyn, who is the only one able to prescribe bc pills for you; according to your diseases and family history.
He will ask you some questions and according to that he can prescribe you.
Taking bc pills now at your age is better for you, than take them later, thay get your pressure up and when you are older they are lethal for smoker women beyond 35.
Cancer is caused by many factors not specially bc pills, but you have a good age to take them always prescribed by your doctor if you don´t want terrible side effects.
Birth Contyrol is something serious and nobody should mess with it, you have to go to the doctor always; bc pills can cause terrible side effects when bas prescribed.
Good luck! ;D

You need to go to a doctor because there are hundreds of different kinds of "the pill"! The doc will do a physical and then you try a certain kind...if you have any weird symptoms you just go back and they adjust it. Basically the pill has 3 different hormones in it...and the differences are just the AMOUNT of the horomones in each type of pill. These days it's pretty safe, and yes it does effect your period. But dont worry! You can pretty much choose when you want your period...just talk to a doc...and there's lots of free clinics out there in case you cant afford it! Good luck!

There are lots of potential risks to taking the pill. You need to talk to your doctor to see if the benefits outweigh them though. I can't really say without knowing your medical history.
I HAVE to take them for medical reasons, but personally I wouldn't take any meds I didn't absolutely have to.
Each pill has different hormones and so does each person, so really nobody can say which one is best for you. It's a trial and error thing, you may have to try several before finding one that doesn't have bad side effects.

there are many benefits and negative effects that the pill can have. i am 22 years old and i started taking birth control pills in january of 2007, and i haven't had any negative side effects at all. but some women react differently. you can look up many different types of pills and see what the drug companies say about those specific ones. especially because you are so young it is hard to say the effects it is going to have on you. if you are certain you want to go on the pill, then it is your decision, but please please also use condoms still, unless both of you have been tested for all STDs including HIV and hopefully you can trust your partner knowing he isn't sleeping around with other girls. condoms along with birth control pills should protect you from pregnancy and STDs very well so please use both if you plan on being sexually active! be safe!

There are variants of The Pill on the market--each forewarn of POSSIBLE side effects, based on research & development studies.
Your doctor can give recommend which birth control pill best suits your current state of health and can advise you of any risks while taking the pill.
The Pill is NOT a complete guarantee women on it won't get pregnant; it's the best measure to avoid pregnancy. And The Pill DOES NOT protect one from contracting STD's--inculding HIV / AIDS.
