I have an older (10 years?) low-flow toilet with an incomplete clog in it. It drains to the appropriate level, but it doesn't flush.

I started to plunge it and heard a gurgling coming from the tank. I took off the tank cover and discovered that when I plunged, the water backed up into the tank.

I spent some time staring at it, and realized that the purpose of this connection was to take air out of the trap and start a syphon action.

I can't be the first person this ever happened to. Anybody out there know how to plunge a toilet with this design?

I'm always dreaming up wild ideas, and I had one for a new breed of high performance personal watercraft - the Tube boat. I want to put a V-8 engine into a very stretched Seadoo-type watercraft, and just use a simple propeller shaft off the back of the engine, with maybe a simple clutch mechanism to engage/disengage the power to the shaft.
Anyway, that all said, I know boats use automobile-type engines, but use special water-cooled exhaust manifolds, etc. What other Boaterizing is done to an automobile engine to make it into a "marine" engine? Any special gimmicks to prevent the corrosion of dissimilar metals inside the motor? If I chose to use a straight car engine, with the watercooled boat manifolds, how long would a motor last without any other mods? Obviously a boat style cooling system as well would be installed . So other than radiator, coolant, and exhaust manifolds, what else would normally be changed?

I am a single mother of three children. My oldest is 13 and a girl. She started her period at the ripe young age of 9, so as far as the female sexulaity I have always been open. Last year she recieved sex ed classes and knows the concept of sex and pregnancy. I have noticed the other girls in her class doing more than flirting. My hopes is that I raise a strong minded young woman that respects herself, however I am not sure how to go about it. I was never married and I feel like a hippocrite, sort of like "do as I say not as I do". My daughter is not dating ( and from the emails I get to read) she does not have a boyfriend, this past summer I noticed her cloths were a bit more revealing on her and let me say she wear a size 9 ladies and a 36d bra..at 13??? I know when I started thinking about sex and I was young, I had no respect for myself and participated in sexual acts to gain aproval from men. Years later (with theorpy) I changed my ways. Any advice!!!!

It appears unanimous that a vapor barrier 6 mil thick will help. What are some other ways to reduce the moisture? I have moisture readings of 20 - 25% throughout the crawl space. I need to reduce this as much as possible and as quickly as possible. Is there something I can do to help dry out the area area in the crawl space above the moisture barrier I am laying down? Is there a permanent and relatively inexpensive remedy for the do-it-yourselfer? I want to get the levels down quickly and install fans or whatever is needed to keep the levels down. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. There is 18" to 24" clearance from the ground to the floor joists. So it's a pretty tight fit.

So i moved in with this girl who is not my g/f in fact i posted an ad on myspace for a roommate and she responded so she moved in. Anyways my question is she has a b/f of 4 years but it is a long distance relationship, and they both agreed it can be an open relationship. So my difficulty is one night we are drinking as she says that she doesn't have sex with roommates but yet we both flirt with each other and we get along great and i am falling for her. I don't know what to do any advice would be great.

Can anyone help me? We had to pull our children out of daycare. Our daycare provider was not happy, and before we left on the last day, she promised to mail us her SSN for tax purposes and $40 for a high chair that we bought and she broke. We waited a couple of weeks, never got anything from her. When I finally called her number her sister answered and said she moved to another state and didn't have her cell phone number, which, as close as they are I don't buy it. We paid her almost $5000 to watch our kids, and we want to be able to claim that on our taxes, but without her SSN, we can't, and it's basically like we paid her under the table, which we had absolutely NO intention of doing. We're in CA, if that helps. Is this fraud? I KNOW her sister knows how to get a hold of her, she is just unwilling to help. Should I go to the police? A lawyer? Anyone ever had anything like this happen to them?
