in order to score a point - do you have to be the server - or can you score a point anytime?

You can score a point anytime. You need 4 points to win a game and 6 games to win a set.

In badminton you have to be the server to score a point but in tennis you can score anytime..

You do not have to be the server Ok, you can serve the ball and lose the match and you can be the returner and win the match and vise versa!!! It all depends how you play the game and the rulles in the game!! If ther is more that you would like to know about the game then please ask me as i am well verse in the sports rules do and donts

You can score points on either side whether you are serving or being served to.
