That's a lot of info that you need. I would first make sure you go to a CPR class and get certified... just to know what to do in the event of an emergency. Any good babysitter or childcare provider should understand that first and foremost. Contact the Red-cross in your area or the local hospitals and clinics to find out more info on that.
As far as diapers... you need to check often, if there are no obvious signs of dirty diaper. Change the diapers promptly to prevent diaper rash. When they're crying... hold them and comfort them. Read stories. Don't watch inappropriate T.V. around them. etc. etc.
In regards to putting them to sleep... ask the parents the protocol on that.
You don't mention your age but a lot of child care is common sense. Keep the children safe. Always know where they are and what they're doing. Make sure they're fed when hungry, given water, juice or milk (whatever parents advise) when thirsty (always have some available for the little one who cannot yet ask)... and don't do or say inappropriate things around them.
Easy enough.

Wow, you have bitten off a lot!!! How long will you be babysitting them for? As far as their sleeping and crying habits (as well as eating), make sure the parents tell you what they like. You can spoil them to keep them quiet since you're not the parent!
Good luck. I feel like crying on your behalf. Please tell me you're either getting paid, or that the parents are very deserving friends of yours...
Edit: I'm sorry, I hadn't seen the part about you getting paid, before I answered. But are you getting paid only $6 because they are friends who can't afford more, or because they're hoping you don't know that most babysitters these days get a lot more for 4 kids. I'm assuming it's the former. Thank goodness someone will be helping you! I'm sure you'll do fine.

That sounds like a very tough job for someone with no experience. 4 young children are alot to handle. Are you sure you can handle it? I mean, I am a mom, and that sounds tough to me!!
