Designer babies are defined as works of biotechnical engineering and customizing genes of an embryo in order to create a "perfect" baby. Right now it's an illegal practice, but they say that designer babies are bound to become a legal reality in about two decades...

What are your views? Are you for or against the creation of "perfect" babies by tweaking a few genes? Explain why if you can :)

thanks!

Well, i have a few questions i would really appreciate help with.
The quotes:
"Treason dith never prosper. What's the reason?"
"Nothing is so monotonous as change."
"Your virtues, gentle master, Are sanctified and holy traitors to you."
i would overly appreciate if anyone can figure out the "figures of Speech," used within them.
Thankyou for your help and replies =D

Leo, a 16 yr old boy is awakened by a loud smashing of the chinaware which his father threw hard on the floor. This has become a daily routine for Leo and he has grown accustomed to it. His father usually gets drunk even in the mornings and comes home angry at everybody. Loud exchange between his father and mother would normally follow after a plate or 2 have been broken. Leo could do nothing but to stay in bed and ponder about his future..

After watching the trilogy i've come to the conclusion that the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy paints a "racist stereotypical tapestry" that does a disservice to young viewers everywhere.

people of color are all associated with the Dark Lord Sauron in the movie and the elephant-riding mercenaries too closely resemble the cultures of Africa, Persia and East Asia. The Uruk-hai also too closely resemble Native Americans, which is sure to cause "a great deal of cultural and racial alienation.

The fact that King Theoden, a white guy, calls his troops the "great warriors of the West" clinches it.

Can you imagine how people of skin color, of Persian, Arab and East Asian ethnic background feel when they come out of these films where all the heroes are white and all the 'evil doers' are of dark skin?

saruman is almost like a race-traitor and this is emphasised by the fact that he kept reffering to sauron as "my dark lord".

Would somebody please take the time to explain the rash that occurs with severe leg edema? not the hemostatic edema spots, rather the large hive-like spots that occur with edema. They are almost like a sunburn in hive form. What are they called and how to treat them?
Thanks.

I don't understand who is behind this whole thing and why some games are on and others are not. Could someone please put this in a SIMPLE way that we can understand whoes calling the shots here? I've heard that Ohio State is somehow behind it but don't believe that is true at all.

Not in terms of ability (long way to go yet) but his targeting of Massa at the start of the Monza GP made the great man look like an amateur.

And James Allen's "shades of Schumacher" comment...come on James ! You castigated Michael every time he did it. Why then is it OK for Lewis ?

This is why mine is 7. When I was born I had 2 parents, 3 grandparents and 2 great-grandparents who were living. When I add these up it is 7.

The guiness book of records had a boy (forgot his name) who had 18. So he must have had something like 2 parents, 4 grandparents 8 great-grandparents and 4 great-great-grandparents who were alive when he was born. Yup, that comes out to 18. I read this in an older edition of Guiness so it might be higher now.

Easy to figure out, just add up your parents, grandparents, G-grandparents, etc who were alive at the time of your birth.
No uncles or aunts, just direct bloodline.

Over the past few days, the comments made about the McCann family have dominated this forum.
Why, though, is the foul language, aggressive tirades, and the so called jokes about this case, tolerated on this forum?
It is possible to express an opinion without resorting to these tirades. I never take anyone seriously when they write just to offend or think it's okay to joke about a young girl, missing, maybe dead.
Why do they get away with it?

Get this: Union City, GA bills itself as "the Progressive City." What an embarrassment! I wonder if the employee was an African American. Georgia is notorious for treating their minorities badly.

Or is this just another example of someone with a "real job" treating a worker in the service industry like crap. No doubt this cop is a petty tyrant and a petty bourgeoisie. He's probably on the take.

Where is the justice?
