lol, I like the question.
Either should keep him out for awhile but neither are permanent. I suppose that you could always pay him visits to make sure that he doesn't get playtime again.

He is playing himself out of a job. So you won't have to take drastic action. If anything, you should give the coach a wake-up slap.
