My son is trying to do a learning cd rom (reader rabbit) and ever couple seconds I keep getting a pop up from IE & it interrupts his cd rom. It keeps saying "IE is not currently your default browser. Would you like to make it your default?" I have to click no & then close the popup behind it! Then I have to bring back up the learning cd. How can I fix this?

I opened a new pack of index "cards" today, and they where thin as ish! Why are they making everything with so much less quality? Is it because of the gas prices? Are they trying to be more environmental friendly? Whats the deal

i've been offered a job where I will make almost twice what i make in my current job. However, in about four months I will be going back to school to get my teacher certification. My current job is pretty flexible and would allow me to keep my job and go to school. I'm trying to think larger picture here, and I would have to leave the new job once school starts. Although the money would provide some more financial security. What do you think I should do?

in the context that unless they themselves have experienced it (or someone they have regular contact with), they dont understand it.

example: drugs. some people do it until their best mate dies of overdose.

others dont do it at all.

is this a psychologic problem or am i in the wrong section.

lets say u have a problem like...

(3x+6)/2 = 5(2x+3)/6

what is the first thing i would do to solve this?

i think i would distribute the 5 to the (2x+3) so 10x+15 it will be.
then i must multiply both sides by the denomenators?
do i need to find a common denominator or just multiply each side by the other denominator? then would multiplying by the denominators cancel the bottom then i need to multipy it by the numerators?im confused.

Postal Rates rise basically because Oil (petroleum) prices rise. The USPS should perhaps change the consumption type from petroleum (in case they use that. i do not know what they use) to other alternatives like: biodiesel, ethanol, butanol, natural gas, vegetable oil, biomass, and even chemically stored electricity (batteries and fuel cells).
i am not saying they have to change the whole fleet. engines can be adapted to be able to move with green technology.
and perhaps with that change prices drop to 37c ?????

My boyfriend & I have been eating out with a friend of his who I have just met. Strange thing is, she always orders last, asks me if I am getting bread, potatoes, ect and then asks if she can have " a bite".She then orders something healthier than I am getting ....but when my food arrived, she takes the first bite every time, then wont even touch the healthy thing on her plate .She eats quite a bit of food off my plate during the meal. Whats up with that?

She mainly does it to me,not so much my hubby. I always clean my plate & am very thin. She will eat no more than half of her order. She is overweight and is trying to loose weight.

Is she just being agressive? Has anyone else ever had a dining buddy like this?

I've read articles saying that some very elite charities have been known to have people in it who were pocketing most of the money. If I'm going to sponsor a charity or cause I want to make sure than my donation goes to the right people, so how can I make sure of it?

i lost about $700-$800 worth of food due to a 3.5 day power outage. Friends informed me that you can file that under homeownerns and because it is a weather related expense - you shouldn't get hit with having filed a claim - some companies I guess don't even make you pay the deductible. I called my insurance company - Allstate and they informed me that I would have to pay my deductible and that it would be filed against me as a claim. I was not happy. When I brought this up to my friend who works for a competing firm, she said that wasn't right. Can anyone else out there verify this for me?

Thanks!

Should a single mother who acts like a brat, use her daughter as a pawn to get her way? Because that's the only way to get to me and she knows it?Every time she gets mad at me, she wont let my grandaughter come back to my house, this is the 2nd time. Telling her that I'm mean, and putting bad things into her head about me. When she was pregnant, and her father slapped her around, it was me she called to come live with, My husband and I kept her up the whole 9 months, never ask her for a dime, gave her a baby shower, let her and the baby stay until she could find a job after losing hers due to plant closing, we bought everything that they needed, even put her on our phone plan after she got a job, pays as long as she isn't mad, she's 5 months behind on it, I cut it off, got cussed out, and told me now I can't see my Grandaughter until I turn the phone back on, my husband and I have helped her many times, and this is the ungreatful appreciation we get. This is the 2nd time in the 4 yrs

I vote Republican because they generally fit my beliefs better than Democrats do, generally. One thing I disagree on is abortion. Without regard for my personal wishes, I agree it is the woman's right to choose as long as the NNNN is not viable. If it could survive outside the mother, as 7+ month premies often do, then I think it's a baby, and should not be aborted unless the mother's health is at risk. Again, my opinion. My question for the "no-limits" crowd is, would you personally stick an icepick in the back of the head of a 7+ month premee and suck its' brains out?

Decathlon Champion. For 1989 and 1990 Dave Johnson had the highest decathlon score in the world. When Johnson reached a speed of 32 ft/sec on the pole vault runway, his height above the ground t seconds after leaving the ground was given by h = -16t^2 + 32t. (The elasticity of the pole converts the horizontal speed into vertical speed.) Find the value of t for which his height was 12 ft.
