My son is trying to do a learning cd rom (reader rabbit) and ever couple seconds I keep getting a pop up from IE & it interrupts his cd rom. It keeps saying "IE is not currently your default browser. Would you like to make it your default?" I have to click no & then close the popup behind it! Then I have to bring back up the learning cd. How can I fix this?

Open the real Internet explorer.. I know, not your favourite browser...

Go to the menu an choose "Tools" then go to "Internet Options", you will see several Tabs, one of them called "Programs".

In that field you find the options to disable, it says "Default Web browser" underneath that disable the function that it should always let you know it is not the default browser.

Hope this solves the problem, learning is very important!

Most common cause of "pop ups" like that is a spyware/adware program that has infected the computer. Since they are not able to infect Firefox, they will try to run IR instead.

Go to http://download.com and get the free anti-spyware program Spybot Seek&Destroy. Run it and it should clear what spyware is causing the pop ups.
