The Wagon R
Its a good car,
1.decent mileage
2.Real good body balance (ie a good stability while negotiating sharp turns)
3.cheap parts
4.Good servicing network
5.the option of driving on a cheaper fuel(only on the wagon-r duo)
6.The gear box is a long throw,(ie more effort required in shifting gears, tiring to drive in the cities).
The Santro XING:
1.A good engine.
2.slam the accelerator(no need to floor) and you can feel the torque(less gear changes, transmission lasts for long time)
3.the gear is a short throw one, less effort in shifting the gears.
4.a rigid suspension setup that allows you to corner and brake faster without jeopardising ur life.(The setup is more stable than the wagon-r)
5.got more space than the wagon-r.
6.mileage is good(10-12 kms/ltr in city,16+ kms/ltr on highways)
7.The servicing network is good, they offer things like free monsoon checkups and things like that, where they also replace ur wiper blades, rotate the tire positions without labour costs.
8.The car is a trouble free vehicle, best for city driving.
9.Its got a high bonnet line so u don't have too guess for the front end of the car. Also u can have a greater road presence than other mentioned hatches.
9.Since the torque is more than wagon-r its faster.
The Santro is a good car,I will personally suggest you to test drive both the cars,to get the feel of the individual cars. Both the cars are born winners, but I feel that the santro has an edge over the wagon-R,atleast that's what the car magazine's say too.
By the way here's something you should know no matter what car you buy please adhere to these small details they add to the value u spent to get the car,Don't let drivre drive the vehicle for 1st 2000 Kms.U drive it yourself and carefully and slowly this will help in the future mileage of the vehicle
Here's my ranking:
1.Santro Xing
2.Wagon-r

Wagon R i think is a better choice as it has 1) A Maruti badge. 2) It is also available in CNG option. 3) Spares are cheaper and can be fixed by any good mechanic in India. 4) Better mileage. On the flip side it is quite ceamped inside, looks dated, engine is not as refined as that of the Xing.

dear friend,
you can go for santro xing- eRlx, a new refined 1.1Lengine,peppy and smoother in city or highway which gives 15kmpl , with good service network, easily availablen spare parts, and no maintenance, and for wagonr, its box shape is dated n a duo model is lor at pickups on highway and with less resale value.hope this helps.
all the best...

Both become old in the market, W.R. was good, recent facelift made it ugly. Why not Estilo or Spark?
