It looks like a combination of Mason and Maxim, and with the current trendiness of Mason, I find Maxim a bit more intriguing. ;)

Now I can totally understand if it's a cultural thing, and you wanted to use Macsen or Maxen to reflect your Welsh heritage, for example (or the Maksim, Maksym, Massimo or Maximo forms to honor their respective languages of origin), but Maxon is not one I'm familiar with and given its similarity to Mason, might not stand out as much it normally would ... or possibly even become confusing (being misread as the more-popular Mason).

Maxim seems the least problematic, clearer choice in my mind. Hope that helps! ;)

I'm sorry sweetie, but I can hear the kids on the playground now, "Maxon the Maxi Pad"

It even sort of sounds like a cheezy porno star name.... "Hey baby, my name is Maxon and I'm going to f* you to the Max!"

There is a Maxon in my son's class...and its a girl. I dont know if you like this name for a boy or girl but I would def. not recommend for a girl b/c I invited this girl to my sons b-day party but I thought it was a boy and she ended up being the only girl there. oops!

Well it is one I have not heard, but it is okay. I would probably give it a 6 on a scale of 1 to 10. Have a great day! :)

My first thought was the same as Wishmaster (and yes, before I saw her answer). For this reason alone, I would not go there. He or she would be subject to a lot of teasing, and kids can be very cruel. It sucks that we have to consider such things when naming our kids, but it's reality.

It either sounds like a feminine hygiene product or a brand name for some technological device.
