Why do people always prefer one operating system over the other, both have good and bad points - why not just look at it from this point of view? I've seen numerous people slating MS simply because they own a manopoly, often the statements made about Windows are completely false. On the other hand I've seen people complain about linux.

Why don't people just accept that both operating systems have good and bad points and to live by one alone is pointless.

Apple macs on the other hand... don't get me started! A computer created for artists and children, just kidding ;-).

same as above, by law do both people need to file to prevent the divorce from happening or does one overly possesive partner have the ability to prevent it from going through if he or she has a change of heart?

Ok, so I've recently lost some weight and the jeans that I have are ok on the waist but the bottom width is just too wide. I just want the leg portion to be "thinner" kind of like the "skinny jeans" look, but not exactly... I've called several tailor shops and asked them to "hem" the jeans, but I dont think thats what its called. Does anyone know what the actual term is called? Thanks!

Judaism teaches that Hashem is continually creating all things and circumstances. I should have nothing to worry about. Hah! How can I increase my ability to trust Him that things will work out, especially when they are not going the way I want them to?

I have recently purchased a 160GB IDE Hard Disk that has XP pre-installed.

My problem seems to be be that after finding the hard disk as 'IDE hard Disk' on the first screen it leads to the O/S Choice screen' (Safe Mode, SM with CMD Prompt, Last Known Good Config, Start Win Normally), and when I choose Last Known good config it leads to a black screen, and if I choose start windows normally it completely freezes!

Any ideas?

Ok. Just say that any of the guys LOCKED into the CHASE have a bad night right off the bat @ Richmond? Whether it comes from slight-damage, an ill-handling race car, or whatever... Do you think around halfway of the race if their car isn't a contender to win the race, and know they have no shot @ winning they will just go ahead and call it an early night?

Like @ halfway, say Hamlin or Gordon or Stewart or whoever... are running mid-pack (17th to 30th or so) and the car is just horrible as hell, and has been since the start of the race.. Do you think any of them would consider parking it for the rest of the night since it really doesn't matter?

I have around 65 beanie babies that I want to sell. What is the best way to do this? Ebay does not look too promising. Are they really worth anything today? Should I just stick them out at a garage sale? If anyone is a collector I would appreciate your opinion. Thanks.

How many times on this forum have we heard, that our problems with hiring illegal immigrants will go away, if the laws are implemented?

Until recently, if a social security number didn't match, an employer would have to get ten no matches before having to do anything about it. Since the immigration/amnesty bill didn't pass, the government is FINALLY trying to crack down on employers by making them report each and every 'no match' social security number. That was supposed to go into effect on Sept. 14th.

Well, guess who stepped in and now has a court order not to implement this law?

You guessed it. The ACLU!

The lawsuit seeks a court order halting implementation of the so-called "no match" rule, which is slated to go into effect Sept. 14. American Civil Liberties Union spokeswoman Stella Richardson said the plaintiffs hope to schedule a hearing before a federal judge in San Francisco as early as Thursday on their request for a temporary restraining order. The Department of Homeland Security rule is one of several administrative immigration enforcement measures announced by the Bush Administration earlier this month after Congress failed to pass an immigration reform law. It requires employers to give workers 90 days to fix problems with social security numbers that don't match information in the Social Security Administration database.

I would bleed or spot for just about all of the first 6 weeks. After the first 6 weeks, after birth and having a tubal I would spot after having sex but still have not had my period that I am aware of unless it happened in the first six weeks because I was already bleeding. I am not breast feeding. Does anyone have any advise on this situation. I would think that I would have got my period at least one noticable time in almost 12 weeks postpartum.

Two brooms were hanging in the closet and after a while they got to know each other so well, they decided to get married.

One broom was, of course, the bride broom, the other the groom broom.

The bride broom looked very beautiful in her white dress. The groom broom was handsome and suave in his tuxedo. The wedding was lovely.

After the wedding, at the wedding dinner, the bride-broom leaned over and said to the groom-broom, "I think I am going to have a little whisk broom!!!"

"! IMPOSSIBLE !!" said the groom broom. "We haven't even SWEPT together!"
