The norm in America seems to be for both parents to work and for the young baby to be put in a daycare center. The daycare centers tend to me crowded, small, too expensive, and have uneducated and underpaid employees. Why is this acceptable to most American mothers?

I have been listening to doom messages for years. The world might a little more dangerous in the post 9-11-2001 years but I do not see the end of life as we know it any time soon.

A girl I know is making very public allegations about a man I also know, regarding rape. She claims that he tried to have sex with her when she was asleep a number of months ago when they were in a relationship. As far as I knew at the time they split up amicably about a month ago.

She seems very angry and agrieved about it and seems to be making sure that as many people know about it as she can.

He on the other hand completely denies it and seems very shocked that she has suddenly started making these claims.

In my opinion he seems to be a decent chap and doesn't - as far as I know - have a history of sexual misconduct. She seems to be a fairly nice person but does have a reputation for being a little crazy and manic.

I really don't know what to think. I feel as though I ought to take a position on this as it is such a serious allegation but I really can't make out whether or not she is launching a smear campaign on an innocent guy or whether he really has a dark side.

is even a fraction as high as the incidence of men *encouraging* and attempting to influence their girlfriend to HAVE an abortion that she doesn't necessarily want?

I have never, in my own experience, known a man who desperately wanted his partner to have the baby she was determined to abort. I have never known a man to want to "veto" his girlfriend's abortion. I HAVE known cases in which boyfriends attempted to persuade their partner to have an abortion when she didn't want one. Do you think men desperately wanting their baby are even half as common as men trying to influence their partner to have an abortion against her will? From the looks on this forum of the mass male indignation over not being able to control those murderous irresponsible women's bodies, you'd think men were so angelic that they would never ask a woman to abort their baby. In fact, I'm almost certain that they do so MORE often than they request to keep their babies.

Ive become extremely close with my mother. I live away from most people and i haven't had sex in years. I feel extremely desperate for a female in my life. I am also deeply longing to have sex again. Problem is I have some social anxiety issues and i live where there is not many females. I get desperate for contact and i sometimes go in the other room and hug my mother. I got in a frenzy one night and started kissing her ''on the cheek'' and hugging her hard. I even told her how desperate i was for sex then I stormed out in a rage. I feel like I can't live without her. My father passed away and since then it's been hell. I became depressed. What should I do about this?
