Best Buy and all retailers are lying

Many companies advertise stuff that is not being sold yet. Ever see a preview in a movie theater. Most of the time, they are showing previews to movies that are not being shown yet. Sometimes, companies will start to advertise their product a year in advance so they can build up demand for it.

Now if a store like Best Buy has an advertisement that says "Come on down and pick up the latest gizmo" and they do not have that gizmo then they could be engaged in false advertising. However, it is also very possible that they are sold out.

There are many ways that the item can be advertised and not be in stock. Assuming they are lying is not a rational action.

I don't know if you're talking about the Wii. My husband and I would look in the Sunday paper at the ads to see if they were advertising it. We finally saw one in the Toys R Us ad and called them up. They said they had 25 come in and we should hurry to get up there. We got one. They're awesome. It may have been in stock when they advertised it, but by the time you saw it they may have been all sold out.
