Bible prophecy "experts" are daily saying that we are in the last days, really?

Last days?...................Really?

I have been listening to doom messages for years. The world might a little more dangerous in the post 9-11-2001 years but I do not see the end of life as we know it any time soon.

Your view?

Kait is right!

Prior to the advent of Christ, the faithful were awaiting the first coming. Now we await the second and according to scripture the last coming of Christ and the final judgment, therefore we are in the end times. Scripture has told us that we are in the end times so we all have a chance to prepare. Therefore there is no excuse for us not being ready.

Just as people did not know when Christ was going to be born, just that he was; we don't know when he will come again, just that he will.

Be ready, scripture tells us that "The day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night," 2Peter 3:10

Mark.

1) You are absolutely correct. Not only have people for centuries been preaching "repent, for the end is near" (and been proven wrong), but several things that have to happen before the so-called "tribulation" have not happened yet.

2) On the other hand, our own lives are like a wisp of fog. We cannot know if we will wake up tomorrow. As Christians, it is expected that we should live each day as if it were our last. This is, of course, very difficult, but nevertheless we should make the attempt every day. Thus, the possibility of looming doom is inconsequential. It should not matter in the least to a Christian if Jesus will return tomorrow or 100 years from now, because we cannot know if today is our last day anyway.

Personally, I believe that most of the "repent, for the end is near" TV preachers are in it strictly for the money. Hal Lindsey is a great example (noticed the earlier answer). I saw his "The Late Great Planet Earth" movie in the 70s. Funny, how 30 years later he's still telling people the end is near, but his whole interpretation of how it was going to come about (based, he assured us, on scripture) has changed tremendously over the years (based, he now assures us, on scripture). He is hardly the only example that has proven himself completely erroneous in his interpretation of prophecy.

Even if you are new to Hal, just a few months ago I saw one of his broadcasts in which he claimed that the US Geological Survey was lying about the number of earthquakes that were occurring, and that there were far more earthquakes today than there were 50 years ago. How *he* came to be in possession of such extensive knowledge of historic earthquake frequency I do not know, but it must be a wondrous comfort for those who believe in him.

The Word says we would not know the exact time when Jesus is coming back, but we are to know the season.
It's as in the days of Noah, and all the prophecy's have been fulfilled except for the ones in Revelation that will be fulfilled when Christ comes back for His church.

It's not a doom message if you're saved and ready for Him.

I believe we are in the last days, b/c I believe in the bible. And it's true.

The average human lives 70 years, thats the only end that one can really count on.

Really....to put an entire civilization on a hot seat on when it will end?
Its like during a bad storm and all the lights go out but everybody is still in the house.
Is that the end or the end of electricity?
Theres never an end just change, only god himself will have the last say "the end"...

In Biblical language, the "last days" is referring to the time between the first and second coming of Christ. So that actually means that we have been in the "last days" for 2,000 years.

We've been riding pretty high on the baby boom wave for years. I disagree with you, I think we will see the end of life as we know it shortly as the first of the boomers will be retiring in 2011.

Nobody knows when the Lord Jesus Christ will return. However, we do need to be ready for it.

Have you trusted in Jesus Christ for His free gift of eternal life?
