Yes, some people would. Doing the right thing often means that you vote or do something that may be against your own selfish interests and for the interests of the country. BTW, taxes weren't that bad under Clinton. And, someone has to pay this war bill. Who do you think is going to do that or should do that? The people who benefit most from this country have gotten the biggest tax cuts under Bush and those people are the richest 1% and the corporations. Those are the people who should have their taxes raised.
To the poster above, (Fred P.), there aren't enough Democrats in office today to override a veto. And, the people in congress who passed the tax cut were also Republican.

The same republican battle cry we've heard for the last 20 years. Talk to george sr. about reading his lips, and as far as george jr. how bout that economy huh. How were your property taxes the last 6 years??? how about medicare and social security. John you just don't get it. anyone can cut taxes and "look" like the good guy, but you can't turn around be out of control with spending. That line about the dems just going to raise our taxes, is tired and after GWB has no more credibility.
Brian: Yes your right in limiting your answer to fed taxes, because every other tax there is went up to make up for the lost fed spending. So are you really better off??? And do you really have more disposable income or are the taxes just spread out to different areas.

Why would someone vote for a democrat period? Why would someone vote for a republican period? If they knew that the two were one in the same they would realize that either party does the bidding of the World Bankers A/K/A/ Federal Reserve.
Deceptions are high and mighty with OUR government and the secrets they keep.
Wake up people!!!
NO to the NWO...

Everyone's pounding on the Republicans about taxes, but remember - Congress proposes the laws and sends them to the president. The president can either sign them or veto them - at which time the Democratically-controlled Congress can override his veto.
So remember - don't blame Bush when your taxes went up. Blame Congress.... remember your basic civics lesson? That's called "checks and balances..."
You don't like the increase in taxes - blame Congress. You don't like the increase in the size of government - blame Congress for authorizing bills to pay for it. You don't like the billions of dollars for Congress' pork projects - blame Congress. You don't like Congress not doing anything about Bush - blame Congress.
It's easy to blame one person (Bush) when you've got two "committees" totaling 535 members whose sole job is getting re-elected. Think about how long some of those reps and senators have been in office - they have no concept about the real people and could NOT survive in the real world.
Your Congress (ie, the people YOU elected) are responsible for this country's ills - which puts the blame back on you for re-electing them!

That's an easy one.
If I'm not paying taxes already and a tax increase means I would be the recipient of the benefit, Hillary gets my vote.
Down side for Hillary is, those people don't know when, where or how to vote.

Why would someone vote for a Republican if they knew the party was ruled by devil.?(G), and that this entire lot of Republicans are liars, deceivers and hypocrites.
By the way, the Bush tax cut for millionaires has been a major factor in our record deficit.

Because I have an aversion to government putting my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in debt for the next hundred years so that we can avoid paying for the actions that we take today.
We are currently almost $9 trillion in debt. Do you think we can ever pay that off without raising taxes?
Let me ask you this question: would YOU, today, borrow four times your annual salary knowing that you would be unable to pay the debt and that your children would have to pay it after you die?
If your answer is no, then why would you ever vote for a Republican?

Because some people think that the common good is more important than finacial gain. Isn't that crazy? How can you be happy without two SUVs a 5000 sq ft house and a unpayable debt? Who cares about the common man, I gotta get mine.
Jerk, pay your taxes and quit complaining.
