I recently posted another question. One person answered saying there is no way that I could "feel or understand how he/she felt." And then of course called me clueless.

I believe we all "feel" very much the "same" things but in different experience levels. I believe this because I have lived the life that this person spoke of. I have felt the very same things he/she felt. I have just moved/grown/forgave past that point in my life. Add to that my doctorate of life and you have one powerful understanding of human behavior.
I know the clinical reason, but I want your response.

So my question is: Why do some people who have been through extreme trauma come out unscathed, while others choose to remain in the pit of despair? Do they refuse help? Do they want to feel that way? Does pain give people power and that's why they hold on to it? You tell me. I just want a discussion from the people I see post on this site. I'd like to know what you truly think...

I know the following is rare, but please consider the scenario and tell me what you think.
Bob came into the US illegally. He was two years old and was brought in by his mother. Obviously, he had no choice in doing what they did.
He went to public school. During high school, Bob excelled in all of his classes. He took AP courses and graduated within the top 10% of his class. He got into college. He graduates college again with honors and receives his degree in science. All throughout his life, he has had no criminal record whatsoever.
Although now has a degree, he cannot work because of his legal status.

Would you consider Bob an asset to the US? In your opinion, should he have the opportunity to become legal and work in his area of study? Again the scenario is rare, but I would like to know your opinions on it.

I've been going out for 7 months with this guy I know at the company I work for. We both are rather old fashioned. He's 43 and I'm 35. Nothing romantic has happened yet, no hand holding, hugs or kisses! At work, we walk together every day for half an hour. On some weekends, we go out. He treats me to movies and dinners but seems he's sloooow!! He checks out my boobs but never makes a move!! We get along well, have an intellectual connection and lots of common interest. I want him to look at me as his girlfriend. He hasn't had a girlfriend in over 4 years. He's shy and is Catholic A COMPLETE LATE-BLOOMER, if you know what I mean. I don't want him to think I just want sex. But I like to have a tender romantic relationship with him and not just be his movie pal. How do I do that properly? He never calls me on a weekend to do something spontaneous, it bugs me...want him as a boyfriend. HELP. Read more below.

It was sent from the Commercial Collection Service, Inc. in Santa Rose, CA. Apparently I owe $66.50 to something but I'm not exactly sure what it is. All it says in the description is: "Unbelievable."

I tried calling them but no one answered. All I received was an automated message telling me to leave my contact info. The debt date was 04-30-07, but I just received the letter today.

They have not made any calls yet (are they suppose to by now?) and this is the only letter I have received.

What happens if I don't pay this "debt?"
