*Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner,then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?

I do that- I thought it was just one of my many neurosis- I also will run a lint brush over a rug after I vacuumed it too.
You would be amazed at what sticks to a rug- I swear my daughter and I must be going bald as much hair as I pick up with that lint brush

Because if I pay $150 for a vacuum cleaner, it ought to be able to pick up a g** d***** piece of string!
