Unions can be a good thing no doubt. But they can also Bankrupt a company by demanding excessive pay.Take General Motors as an example.Do you think companies hire these illegals to avoid these unions which do this?

anyone know the name of this item. Or a suggestion of an item that would work for me. I'm needing it b/c I have a food license and me and my hubby set up outside the migrant farms and dairy farms in the area and sell tacos, but we have all these bins that we put our different items in such as one bin for the meat, one for the cooked onions, one for the raw onions and so on. I would like one thing that I can drop all the bins into that will hold them so when it comes time to transport the items we do not have to have 20 little containers to carry it will just be one big holder with all the bins inside it. Any ideas? Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!!

... intelligent animals other than humans. This includes primates and dolphins, etc.

Does anyone know of ANY study that has attempted to determine if these creatures have a concept of God? I'm not an animal behaviorist so I don't know what a study like that would look like but... anyone?

If not, can anyone come up with an experiment that could test the hypothesis that these animals have a concept of God?

BTW, I mean "God" VERY loosely... not necessarily an omni-X being and certainly not one necessarily associated with any particular human belief. (and it could be "gods")

Also, don't dismiss the idea out of hand. Some animals have been shown to have incredible intelligence, use tools, have a Theory of Mind (look it up), etc. If we, as sentient, intelligent beings can have a concept of a divine being, why not them?

Not sure how you could test it though...

I've seen documentaries and had friends in the army, and have heard about the demeaning way people are treated when they enter. Is this done to strip of all emotion and break them down into mindless drones? I dont know, but that is the conclusion I'm starting to come to, especially after seeing high school friends leave for the armed forces, and returning as hyper masculine people that I cant stand to be around.

My mother is in serious debt and worked with this credit card company once before to lower payments but she is still having trouble paying it and now with all the late payments and interest fees tacked on each month she is way over the limit resulting of course in another fee. She makes 600.00 a month from va and thats it. I copay her mortgage for her to have a place to live, but I can't help her with the credit cards. If she stops paying the credit card, what would happen? Could they take her to court? Could they take her house? She can't refinance because she doesn't have a job(we already tried).

I was reading/answering Lovenrckts question about the best records for each year 1990 - 1998 and it got me thinking about which year was the best. I throw that to you. I had to include 1989, though it wouldn't be my answer (top 3 though most likely), because that was just a monster year. You can factor in other things too. For instance in 1989 Nirvana and Nine Inch Nails released their first records, marking their beginnings in my opinion. 1995 marked the beginning of Radiohead by that logic. 1991 gave us Nevermind, Ten, and Badmotofinger which was the beginning of the grunge movement spreading out of Seattle on a large scale. You could go with a landmark show, beginning of a festival. Factor in personal things if you want, but it would be good if that was more of a coincidental thing to accent the actual happenings of the year. The easiest way to approach it would be by records, but the more in depth the better the answer.
Thanks in advance.

One day a little boy walked into the family room and saw his dad drinking a beer. The little boy was curious, and asked his dad if he could have sip.
The dad quickly replied, "well son, can your d**k touch your a**?" The little boy said "no." The father replied, "Well sorry son, youll have to wait till your older when it can."

The next day the little boy was playing outside and saw his dad smoking a cigarette. The little boy was curious and asked his dad if he could have a puff. The dad replied once again, "well son, can your d**k touch your a** yet?" The little boy said "no." The father replied, "Well sorry son, youll have to wait till your older when it can."

Well, later that day, the father walks into the kitchen and sees the little boy eating cookies. The father asks the little boy if he could have one.

In another forum, a Christian wrote to me: "I am the church... . All beleivers in Christ ARE the church, Christ's body, so in fact I AM a member of their church... ," to which I replied:

This is an interesting point of view, but this eternal skeptic would like to test it. Christians on this forum, I'd like your views on these points:

1. Does everyone who professes Christianity embody the Church so that every Christian is a member of every church?

2. As such, do you believe that your local church is answerable to every Christian everywhere for its ministerial priorities and decisions?

In other words, to what extent do you believe that has a right and a duty to chastise a church with which he has had no previous contact and to lay down rules for the conduct of their ministry when he gets upset over a news item. By the way, keep up all of your good works. Even if I can no longer believe, I am happy for those who do and celebrate their acts of kindness.

Where do people GET stuff like this? In a thread earlier this morning about the authorship of the Gospels, someone posted this lil' gem:

"There's no such thing as fact. So are you believing lies as well? You can't prove it and neither can I prove what I believe. We all have faith. Either faith that there is no God or faith that there is. Either or... no such thing as fact."

So . . . that's it, then? We can all just throw science, history, empirical testing, direct observation, and the rest of it out the window, because FACTS DON'T EXIST?

Guess we can chuck logic while we're at it, huh?
